I wonder if it makes sense to release "just a few" of these images to the general public. They may help promote product awareness.
The chief engineer one is good for this.

Aaron, they are posted on facebook from time to time by Jean.

More than that, one of the printers were use has a press that prints 3 covers and 2 postcards, so Jean prints demotivationals. I think she has 6 or 8 different ones. Pretty sure engineer is one of them. She has passed out thousands of them at Origins.

The Engineers is one of them. I have one from my first trip to Origins in 2011.

Aaron, we need covers or other published art to go with the sayings. Do you have suggestions for your three captions?
By Jean Sexton (Jsexton) on Thursday, July 10, 2014 - 02:10 pm: Edit |
Aaron, we post these each Friday. Sometimes I post general ones to a few ST sites I think would like them.
We also distribute them to our Rangers for using at demos.

At the moment I don't have any images in mind. I'm sure there are plenty of amateur artists who might take the phrase and turn it into something. ;-)

*cough*
I draw a MEAN stick figure, brah.
My stick figure can beat up your stick figure!
By Jean Sexton (Jsexton) on Thursday, July 10, 2014 - 03:16 pm: Edit |
No mean stick figures. Otherwise I will hit them with the cast-iron frying pan until they are NICE stick figures. Or splintered. Whichever comes first.
By Randy Blair (Randyblair) on Thursday, July 10, 2014 - 03:56 pm: Edit |
"Thank you ma'am, may I have another?" said no stick figure struck by the cast-iron frying pan ever.

Walk softly and carry a big stick figure!

Hey this is unfair for the mean stick figure....they have feeling and human right too.
So be kind to a mean stick figure today.

Numbers: quantity has a quality all its own!
Art: something with a lot of Hydran or Federation Fighters on it. Sorry I'm drawing a blank on some good art for this one.

Griswold; Behave or get whanged!
art: A top down view of a Fed DD.

Was the old F&E Carrier Operations cover the one with a lot of fighters? Of course, for quantity, I'm not sure anything yet beats a simple piece of b&w artwork from CL#9:
I've tried negativizing the image to get black space:
http://userpages.bright.net/~jackbohn/sf/Numbers.jpg
but it needs Xander's magical coloring to make its quality less different from computer art.
For the DD Griswold, CL #31 is the closest to an overhead shot I know of, unless you want to go with Cole computer clipart.

Don't know if this one has been proposed or not:
Picture of someone glowing as a result of being hit by phaser set to disintegrate (pick stock art from past product).
"Know Disintegrations"
By Randy Blair (Randyblair) on Monday, February 09, 2015 - 12:24 pm: Edit |
*steps away from the bar, inching towards the saloon exit*
You, uh, know there aren't any phaser disintegrations in the SFU, right?
(IIRC, that's one of Petrick's pet peeves.)
By Ted Fay (Catwhoeatsphoto) on Monday, February 09, 2015 - 12:42 pm: Edit |
DOH!
By Steve Petrick (Petrick) on Monday, February 09, 2015 - 01:23 pm: Edit |
Randy Blair:
Incorrect.
While it is one of my pet peeves, it is also one of those things I have been consistently overruled on because it is imbedded in the source material background. It has just become one of those things that is more "energy intensive." You can fire your phaser on 'kill' about 100 times without have to replace the energy pack, but if you set it to disintegrate you can only fire it about 10 times (not exact, but conveys the idea).
By Randy Blair (Randyblair) on Monday, February 09, 2015 - 01:27 pm: Edit |
Wow. Ya learn something new every day!
Thanks for the clarification.
By Ted Fay (Catwhoeatsphoto) on Monday, February 09, 2015 - 01:50 pm: Edit |
I did some searching online and couldn't find a SFU picture of a disintegration. I'll try looking for one later.

There was one in the "Refiner's Fire" fiction story in Captain's Log #2.
