Captain's Log #19 Now Available from Multiple Sources
INTRUDER UNIT LOCATED. THIS UNIT ENGAGING.
This October 1999 issue showed that the new ADB, Inc. had hit its stride as the publisher of the Star Fleet Universe. It was 112 pages long. We finally had a company logo (which did not change for 12 years).
HISTORY included the fiction story "Another Point of View" about Kzinti-Federation relations. Also included was an article on Romulan military ranks and one on Lyran politics.
COMMUNICATIONS appeared as a department for the first time, as we divided the old Database chapter into two parts. This included updates on conventions, the Input Guide, After Action Reports, WHY?, the Proposals Board, Ask Kommodore Ketrick, and an article about how to stay in touch with ADB, Inc.
VENUES appeared for the first time as a new chapter to cover things outside the main published games. This time there were articles on Star Fleet Warlord, Play-by-Email, Galactic Conquest, SFB Online, and Starfleet Command, all things that have appeared in the Venues chapter of every subsequent issue. Also included was a Victory At article by Sandy Hemenway about a tournament held on SFBOL.
DATABASE continued as a place to publish a lot of stuff for Star Fleet Battles and some other things. This issue included an update for the Vudar, an article on Prime Directive, the new Yitlian warrior species, the return of the Starline 2400 miniatures, Battle Force 600, an article on the Omega Sector, a short story from Omega, and the Brothers of the Anarchist (the first of what became a very long series).
SCENARIOS include four new ones for Star Fleet Battles (SL174-SL177).
TACTICS included Victory at Origins Patrol 1998 by Andrew Dederer and several pages of Term Papers.
FEDERATION & EMPIRE included news about the upcoming Advanced Operations, Rules & Rulings, Scenario (697) The Second Federation-Kzinti War, a preview of some material from Total War, a file of War Plans, Tactical Notes, and Economic Notes.
NEW SHIPS for SFB included 10 for Omega, two for the Vudar, two brothers of the Anarchist, and several others from player submissions.

A Call to Arms: Star Fleet Volume One, Revision 2 Deluxe Edition Released!
This exciting first volume of A Call to Arms: Star Fleet includes the rules to play the Federation, Klingons, Romulans, Kzintis, Gorns, Tholians, and Orion pirates using the Call to Arms combat system. This system is miniatures based (no hexes) and is very streamlined. There is no energy allocation (although some special actions will slow your ship down as your chief engineer diverts power to whatever special order you gave). Each turn consists of one movement phase and one attack phase. Ships fire one at a time (or in squadrons) and if a ship is destroyed before it gets to fire, well, too bad!
In this revised edition all of the rules have been reviewed, clarified as needed, and are in one location. All of the ships have had their stats reviewed. There has been extensive playtesting of this version. You will find that the ease of play has been retained so large battles can be handled quickly.
The deluxe version includes expanded background information for the empires, a chapter on tactics, a chapter on painting ships and creating asteroids, and far more art. Each ship roster includes an image of the ship.
This product is being done as a joint venture with Mongoose Publishing Ltd., under the strict terms of ADB, Inc.'s contract with Paramount Pictures Corporation.
The main volume is available as an ebook from the following sources:

Captain's Log #20 Now Available from Multiple Sources
Every Star Fleet ensign dreamed of this moment: command of a starship.
This June 2000 issue was inspired by a piece of cover art that Andy Goodwin submitted. We liked it so much that we had a contest to write a story to match it, and printed the best three stories. It was 112 pages long.
HISTORY included the three stories (and nothing else; the stories took up 21 pages).
COMMUNICATIONS continued as a department. This included conventions, tournaments, awards, After Action, Command the Future, Dirty Little Secrets of Mail Order, Input Guide, Proposals Board, Why, Ten Questions, and Ask Ketrick. (Some of these were elements that moved to Database in later issues.)
VENUES included Star Fleet Warlord, Play by Email, SFB On Line, Galactic Conquest, and Star Fleet Command.
DATABASE remained the place for new SFB material, including articles on the Omega Sector, Shipyard Report, the Uthicki (a new Magellanic empire), Battle Force 600, an example of black hole movement, new stuff for Prime Directive, Brothers of the Anarchist, and Murphy's Laws of SFB.
SCENARIOS include five new ones (SL178-SL182).
TACTICS included Victory on Line and several pages of Term papers.
FEDERATION & EMPIRE included news about the upcoming Advanced Operations, Rules & Rulings, another look at SIDS, Marine Assault, the War Plans File, Tactical Notes, Economic Notes, and the first draft of Depot Level Repair.
NEW SHIPS for SFB included four for Omega, six Magellanics, Klingon ships for the Middle Years, and Kzinti light cruiser variants.

Federation & Empire: Minor Empires Rulebook Available
New Empires! New Ships! New Tactics! New Scenarios!
For years, players have wondered what effect the Lyran Democratic Republic, the Vudar Enclave, and the Seltorian Tribunal would have had on the General War. Wonder no longer! Play these empires and find out for yourself.
The Lyran Democratic Republic is more than just a renegade province of the Lyran Star Empire. It is a vital balance point between the Lyrans and Hydrans. In Wall Cloud, find out what would have happened had the LDR reunited with the Lyrans.
The Vudar Enclave was far different than the Klingons tricked the Federation into believing, but it was still a player in the final years of the General War. They locked up territory in a "neutral" enclave that was secretly much closer to the Klingon Empire than thought. Find out about "The Hole," containing a secret shipyard and fleet. In Static Fog, the Klingons decide to crush the Vudar. In Electric Storm, the LDR and Vudar decide to carve new empires from old.
The Seltorian Tribunal arrived late in the General War and asked the Klingons for a planet where they could set up a base to attack the Tholians. The Klingons were only too happy to have a new ally -- until they discovered the Seltorian secret. In Vortex of Vengeance the Seltorians declare war on the Tholians. In Freak Storm Seltorians, Hydrans, LDR, and Vudar attack the Klingons.
You will need the Federation & Empire 2010 Rulebook and various countersheets to use this expansion.

The Dawn of War! Return again to the Early Years era, the wars before the wars that defined a galaxy.
The Star Fleet Battles Module Y3 Rulebook is now available in print and as an e-book. This book provides a glimpse of the early history of the Star Fleet Universe. Here you will find the descriptions of the ships provided in the SSDs. These include early battleships, the National Guard ships of some of the various nations that in time formed the United Federation of Planets, more early Klingon, Romulan, Gorn, Tholian, Orion National Guard, Hydran, Lyran, WYN, ISC (including ships for the five species who would form the Concordium), Paravian, and Carnivon ships.
There are five scenarios: Disaster at Rikantha (Romulans and Jindarians), Towtruck Travails (Hydrans and Lyrans), Building Up (Korlivilar, Rovillian, and Veltressai), The First Intrusion (Orion and WYN), and They Must Be Stopped (Klingons and Tholians). The rulebook includes the annexes and Master Ship Chart for Module Y3.
There are also essays filling in gaps in the history. How did the Tholians establish themselves? How did the Hydrans make their comeback? How did the WYN Cluster grow after the arrival of the Usurper?
Find out more about the Early Years of the Star Fleet Universe!
If you want to fly the ships, you will need the Y3 SSD Book. You must have the SFB Basic Set and Module Y1 in order to fully utilize the ships. Some of the ships require the Advanced Missions set or the SFB Master Rulebook and Modules C1, C2, and Y2 for complete use.

Operation Pegasus Is Now Available in PDF
Return to 1980 when Task Force Games was thriving and releasing all sorts of games. The Vietnam War was in the very recent past. Enter Perry Moore with a concept and design and Stephen Cole to develop the game and the combat system. They consulted with others who had been in the military. The result? Operation Pegasus.
In the spring of 1968 two full North Vietnamese divisions surrounded and blocked the only road into Khe Sahn, a small Marine firebase near the Laotian border. They hoped to force the Americans into a long ground drive to relieve the fort. This drive, they reasoned, would result in massive American casualties. But the North Vietnamese did not realize what a division of helicopters carrying elite infantry could do to a conventional defensive position.
Operation Pegasus covers the drive of the U.S. Army 1st Cavalry Division to relieve Khe Sahn in April of 1968. The game includes the PDF for 108 playing pieces which represent the rifle companies, artillery batteries, and helicopters that participated. Also included is a PDF of the map.
