Star Fleet Battles: Module E5 - North Polar Republic Available
In the coreward regions of the Federation is the fiercely independent North Polar Republic. This small nation, which never became part of the Federation, was nevertheless a vital part of the Federation economy. Wealthy by galactic standards, the North Polar Republic exported not just excellent consumer products but good cheer. Their annual inventory clearance sent shiploads of free consumer products to planets all over the Federation and beyond, raising the spirits and morale of hard-working citizens.
Of course, when wealth moves, it attracts pirates, raiders, and ne'er-do-wells of all sorts. Some wanted to steal the consumer products, others just wanted to eliminate competition for their own second-class and shoddy products. To protect their commerce, the North Polar Republic built and operated a vast fleet with more cruiser types than any other nation. (These included the Sleigh-class, Tree-class, Snowflake-class, Star-class, and Gingerbread-class), the Snowman dreadnought (able to separate into three destroyer-sized Snowball ships), as well as a full range of destroyers and light cruisers including several mission variants. The North Polar Trade network operated from a series of Wreath-class bases where products were stored at distribution centers.
This product comes in two versions (B&W SSDs or Color) and includes 12 new ships and 12 new scenarios for Star Fleet Battles. While based on a whimsical theme, the ships and scenarios are fully functional SFB material that will add a note of whimsy and even some Holiday Cheer to your deadly games.

ADB Releases Ships for January 2021
On January 11, 2021, ADB released a total of 35 new items to its shop on Shapeways which has over 2,400 items available in total. Notably this month we released new ships for the Federation, Klingons, and Tholians along with the first three armored vehicles for the Lyrans. Please note that all ships are available in both 3788 and 3125 scales, except when noted.
The Federation starts with its Police Flagship which is available in both the Federation (gridded saucer) and Fed Classic (smooth saucer) styles.
The Klingons gain their C10 Heavy Dreadnought, D7C Command Cruiser, and D7W Heavy Command Cruiser. With more aztecking, they are also available as the C10K Refitted Heavy Dreadnought, D7L Command Cruiser, and D7WK Heavy Command Cruiser. The C8L Dreadnought (Alternative) is based on the C8 Dreadnought but has a different way from the C8K of disguising the fact it was refitted.
The Tholians have two new X-ships: the Neo-Tholian X-Ship Heavy Cruiser and Neo-Tholian X-Ship Light Cruiser.
The Hydrans gain a Light Gunboat/PF Tender.
The WYNs now have their Orca-H Heavy War Cruiser.
The Lyrans get the first of their ground vehicles with their Ground Combat Vehicle, Armored Personnel Vehicle, and Tank. These are in the 285 Scale only.
Finally, the Peladine Empire, which is one of the "also-rans" in the history of the Alpha Quadrant, gets its Light Cruiser as the second of the ships for that empire.
Aside from the various empires, we also created the turn gauges that are part of hexless combat for both Star Fleet Battles and Federation Commander. The compact style works best in Multi Jet Fusion Plastic; the flat style, in Fine Detail Plastic. The gauges themselves are identical; the variation is only in presentation for 3d printing. These are only available in the Omni Scale.
Also only available in Omni Scale are the Large and Small Captor Mines. These are both armed with drones.

Can somebody give me the link to the buy-sell-trade topic. This guy wants to use it:

I just found a box of 35 unopened Starfleet Battles miniatures and I have no idea what to do with them, does anyone have simplified rules that I could use them with? or does anyone know of a place that would be better suited?

Revised GURPS Klingons Now Available!
Newly revised in 2021, GURPS Klingons is the sourcebook for the GURPS Prime Directive's Empire of Steel. The Klingon Empire is the most dangerous enemy faced by the Federation, and yet the Klingons don't think of the Federation as their primary threat, except economically. In this book, you will find out even more about the empire and the people who inhabit it!
More about the history of the Klingons! Find out how Kahless conquered the planet. Discover what is known about the Old Kings who took the Klingons into space, then mysteriously vanished, stranding the Klingons on their homeworld. Read how the Klingons returned to the stars and became an empire to be respected and feared.
More about the Klingons! Find out more about the Klingons themselves including their biology, culture, military, government, emperors, religions, economics, legal systems, and colonized planets. Discover what options are open for education in the Klingon Empire with templates for the various military academies and training programs. Included is more information about the Imperial Paladins, military nobility, and various intelligence and police agencies. In this revision, more information has been included in the templates, including new skills.
More about the Klingon's subject races! Discover strange planets with the complete planetary survey, including not only geological information, but information on the species inhabiting them. Many of the species have become subject races of the Klingons. Some are more along the lines of client states or mercenaries. In all cases, the information has been updated to be in line with the information in the revised GURPS Prime Directive. In particular, the Bargantines have been completely rewritten.
More about the starships! Still based on the 3rd edition of GURPS, this provides more information about the starships from the tiny G2 police corvette to the mighty B10 battleship. The deckplans for the G1 gunboat (fast patrol ships) are included, as are the officers typically found on a Klingon battlecruiser.
More technology! The weapons commonly found in the Klingon Empire have descriptions and weapon charts. The Kral modular vehicle and Kraz'nik gravtank have GURPS 4th edition descriptions. Discover more about the mindsifter and the agonizer.
More adventures! Find out more about Verlix Station and cut deals there to advance your mission. Find out about Lieutenant Thirek's experiment and decide if you want to back him or report his waste of time.
You must have GURPS Prime Directive to use this sourcebook effectively. There are references to GURPS Basic Set that, while not strictly needed, will enhance your gaming experience.

ADB Releases Ships for February 2021
On February 1, 2021, ADB released a total of 39 new items to its shop on Shapeways which has over 2,500 items available in total. Notably this month we released new ships for the Federation, Klingons, and Tholians. We also introduced the Carnivons, who were part of the Alpha Octant until deliberately wiped out by the Kzintis and Lyrans. The first fleet for the Triangulum Galaxy belongs to the Helgardian Protectorate. Please note that all ships are available in both 3788 and 3125 scales, except when noted.
The Federation starts with its Police Frigate which is available in both the Masterson (straight struts) and Callaghan (angled struts) styles.
The Klingons gain their B10V Heavy Carrier. With more aztecking, it is also available as the B10VK Refitted Heavy Carrier.
The Tholians have two new battleships in 7000 Scale: the Tholian Battleship and Neo-Tholian Battleship.
The Lyrans gain their 3788 Scale Refitted Alleycat War Destroyer, Refitted PF/Gunboat Tender, Refitted Siberian Tiger Carrier, and Refitted War PF/Gunboat Tender. They also gain their Omni Scale battle stations as does the LDR. (Please note that the LDR base station is identical to the Lyran one.)
The ISC gains its Light Tactical Transport.
The Carnivons were a dog-like species that were in nearly continuous conflict with the Lyrans and Kzintis. They are introduced with their Early Years ships: the Early Command Cruiser and Early (Wolf-class) Heavy Cruiser. In 7000 Scale, the Carnivons get a cruiser squadron with an Early Command Cruiser and two Early Heavy Cruisers.
The Triangulum Galaxy, located 2.73 million light years from the Milky Way Galaxy, is another setting for the Star Fleet Universe and is explored in Star Fleet Battles Module E2. The Helgardian Protectorate is one of the empires located in the Triangulum Galaxy. They gain their Frigate, Destroyer, Light Cruiser, Cruiser, Heavy Cruiser, Scout, and Dreadnought.

New map panels are in and they are gorgeous! That means Klingon Attack is available again!
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Thursday, February 04, 2021 - 12:54 am: Edit |
The new map panels are the same size and thickness as the ones used before. They are well made, but so were the old ones. We still have about 100 copies of FC:KB-RB using the old panels before moving to the new ones for those two baseline products. If you want to order these new maps specifically (for some reason I cannot imagine) you can do so as spare parts but use special instructions to tell Leanna that you want the new ones. In any case, all "open space" map panels from this day forward will be the rosette type. The six letters and six numbers are a little smaller, about half as big overall, compared to the maps used for the last 16 years.

It is three degrees below zero F outside. Technically today is a holiday but ADB usually ignores those and works. However, with snow and ice we might just decide to stay home. I am certain that I can get to the office but there are wrecks up and down the highway and all over town meaning that the local idiots are out there spinning their cars in circles. I don’t know that what I could get done in the office today is worth having to buy a new car or spend a few months in a wheelchair.
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Monday, February 15, 2021 - 12:05 pm: Edit |
It warmed up to 1 degree above zero F so Leanna decided we would try to get to the office. Petrick already made it so the roads are acceptable.

Wisconsin we’re supposed to be getting a couple of snow storms
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 - 01:44 am: Edit |
We got some work done in the office. I got the back cover for ACTASF2 done, and finished the fronts of the R4J counters. Now I just have to do the backs of R4J and R4T. The streets were drivable, either wet pavement on an inch of packed snow. I saw a couple of pickups fishtailing or spinning in circles.
By Steve Stewart (Stevestewart) on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 - 06:56 am: Edit |
Take care everyone - I'm guessing you don't see a lot of snow down there (although my only visit to Amarillo in 2012 was an overnight stop as we'd driven down from Colorado Springs after every airport from there to Denver was shut with snow and ice and we were heading to DFW to get back to the UK. Barely made it home for Christmas that time (fun detachments I have known that C-in-C Home Command did not approve of).
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 - 01:28 pm: Edit |
Leanna and I made it to the office, but nobody else did. I am going to get as much done on the countersheets as I can and then get out of here before rush hour. The cold is deep and bitter (11F) but no further snow. The roads and streets aren't any worse than yesterday but lots of businesses and restaurants are closed due to cold, frozen pipes, or power outages.

I went in to work this morning because I didn't get the text telling everyone to telework. {sigh}

Most of Texas is suffering from rolling blacks because our utilities never believed it would get this cold.
For whatever reason the panhandle of Texas (where Amarillo is) is not affected.
By Steven Zamboni (Szamboni) on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 - 03:24 pm: Edit |
The panhandle is SPP, not ERCOT. SPP can pull juice from neighboring states or other grids. Natural gas delivery may still be an issue, but electricity generation should be less affected.
(SPP = Southern Power Pool, just to clarify)

Went to work here in Albuquerque today. No one else showed up. Jeesh. Just drive a tad slower and pay attention and it'll be just fine.
By Gregory S Flusche (Vandar) on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 - 05:41 pm: Edit |
60 degrees today in Norfolk VA. IS supposed to drop below freezing tonight? Really?
By Jessica Orsini (Jessica_Orsini) on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 - 05:49 pm: Edit |
The ERCOT grid issues are a real mess...and they shouldn't be, because they ran into all of these problems back in 2011. The issue is winterization, or rather, the lack thereof. Massive power plants rendered inoperable because water lines have frozen, wind turbines have locked up, etc.
Ten years later, same problems, because nothing was done about them after the last time. Frankly, the rate payers should go after them the way those on Long Island did after LILCO botched recovery from Hurricane Gloria back in '85.
By Jean Sexton Beddow (Jsexton) on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 - 06:02 pm: Edit |
Folks, this is ADB news, not a discussion of winter weather or power supply. Please take it elsewhere.

The Panhandle of Texas is not part of the "Texas power grid" for whatever reason.
