Ken, I am having some email issues. I am waiting for Al to come to the office and fix them.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 - 01:45 pm: Edit

Jean, I need Al to fix my email, it stopped working.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 - 03:37 pm: Edit

Jean fixed it! SSDs for two TURKEY variants sent to Ken to prep for newsletter.

By Ken Kazinski (Kjkazinski) on Sunday, April 16, 2023 - 11:42 am: Edit

Steve C - emailed you the SSD issues.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Sunday, April 16, 2023 - 04:27 pm: Edit

For the third one? I got the first two. Thanks. Good work by the way.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 - 03:36 pm: Edit

Ken: I got the stuff and made the changes. Send the ship rule text when you can. I think I answered all of your questions yesterday for that.

No cancer, that's what the test said. I wanted to start with the headline as the story gets grim for a bit.

One of my doctors was absolutely convinced that I had terminal cancer despite every test he could run finding nothing. In the end, I submitted to a biopsy (the most painful thing I have ever experienced) as that would produce 100% guaranteed accurate results.

The results came back "no cancer" but I do have one internal part that is just shaped strangely.

Anyway, how is everybody else doing?

SVC,

Well that's great news.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Saturday, April 29, 2023 - 02:29 pm: Edit

Ryan, I hope to have great news from you, soon.

By Jean Sexton Beddow (Jsexton) on Monday, June 19, 2023 - 02:54 pm: Edit

The good news is that our map panels came in, so Federation Commander core sets and Graduation are now available. So are the Deluxe Space Battle Maps.

The bad news is that the price to us tripled. We held the line for the core sets, but everything else had to go up in price.

I am so sorry.

By A David Merritt (Adm) on Monday, June 19, 2023 - 08:06 pm: Edit

Don't be, ADB is not the sort of Company to raise prices by 6Xs* the cost to ADB.

*number is not tied to a specific instance.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Monday, June 19, 2023 - 11:58 pm: Edit

Every time we reprint something, the price goes up a bit. This year, however, we have seen reprint component prices double and triple.

By Mike Erickson (Mike_Erickson) on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 - 10:25 am: Edit

It is unfortunately a sign of the economic times we live in. I personally don't blame ADB for "gouging" customers. I think your track record in trying to keep prices reasonable is both consistent and admirable. And, sometimes the inflationary tide is rising and products and services throughout the economy just get caught up in it. It just happens.

In observance of the Independence Day holiday and to give us time with family and friends, ADB will be closed from Friday, June 30 at 4:30 pm through Tuesday, July 4, and reopen on Wednesday, July 5 at 9:00 am.

We're back!

YEA!!!!

By Douglas Lampert (Dlampert) on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 - 05:53 pm: Edit

I think a few messages may have gone missing. I remember more in the Their Finest Hour reports than I see now.

But I could be halucinating.

By Alex Chobot (Alendrel) on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 - 06:46 pm: Edit

Huzzah!!! So Module R6 releasing to celebrate? ;)

By Mike Erickson (Mike_Erickson) on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 - 07:18 pm: Edit

And there was much rejoicing!

R6 is in final edit/layout. I want it out this month, but I wanted it out in May.

By Jessica Orsini (Jessica_Orsini) on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 - 08:10 am: Edit

Congratulations on the successful site migration. It's never a fun process.

By Jean Sexton Beddow (Jsexton) on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 - 11:17 am: Edit

We did lose messages. The site backup of this massive website was done on the night of the 6th. Everything from then to when I locked down the BBS is gone.

By A David Merritt (Adm) on Thursday, July 13, 2023 - 05:42 am: Edit

Unfortunate, if you had been given some warning that you would need to do this, I'm sure you would not have lost anything.

With no notice, you have done an amazing job.

By Jean Sexton Beddow (Jsexton) on Thursday, July 13, 2023 - 12:14 pm: Edit

Thanks.

Star Fleet Battles Module R6 - The Fast Warships Available from Multiple Sources

Newly updated in 2003, Star Fleet Battles: Module R6 - The Fast Warships has a 76-page rulebook (available in both print and as an ebook) that includes five new classes of ships and ten new scenarios.

With their hot-warp engines, fast cruisers flew at speeds other ships could only imagine. However, the price was a lack of heavy weapons attack power. Heavy war destroyers were modular, multi-mission ships that could serve as carriers, scouts, commando ships, escorts, or versatile light cruisers. The thankless task of bringing replacement fighters to front-line carriers fell to the unsung, aegis-equipped fast resupply ships. The previously unknown workhorses of the galaxy, police flagships had everything a cop on the beat would need: Marines, rescue, scout, minesweeping, and repair systems. Mobile carriers were based on war destroyer hulls and were swift and deadly.

It also has the following scenarios: Returning to the Scene of the Crime has an Orion Light Raider returning to loot a tramp steamer, only to find it guarded by the Federation in the form of a police ship and a police flagship. Playing Catch-Up has Klingons attacking a group of Hydran ships. Quick Steal has Orion ships lusting after some Gorn G-12 fighters; will the Gorns be able to fight them off? In Desperate Strike, there is a classic Lyran-Kzinti matchup. Will the Federation or Klingons win in the scenario Hasty Carrier? Andromedan Invaders attack a powerful LDR three-ship squadron in Strike Force. In Webfighter, the Seltorians hope that the addition of fighters will help them defeat the Tholians. The Orion in Question decided attacking a Federation convoy was a good idea. Which empire will have the "Long Legs": the ISC fast cruiser or the Romulan X-ship? Finally, The Price to Pay is a three-person scenario featuring the WYN-Usurper's squadron, the Kzinti Crown Prince's squadron, and a Jindarian squadron.

Of course, it also has the section of the Master Ship Chart that pertains to the ships included.

The Star Fleet Battles Module R6 SSD Book is available in print and as an e-book. As an e-book, you have a choice of the original black-and-white SSDs or the color ones. This 98-page SSD book from Star Fleet Battles: Module R6 has SSDs for five new classes of ships.

Please note that the PDFs do not include images for the die-cut counters included in the complete print module.

The complete print module includes the rulebook, B&W SSD book, and 216 die-cut counters.

This product provides additional ships for use in Star Fleet Battles. You must have the SFB Basic Set to utilize this material. Some of the ships require the Advanced Missions set or the SFB Master Rulebook.
