It would be helpful if you could put the tournament reference book online. The one with the smaller group of tournament only rules. I am not talking about the book with the tournament ships in it. I am talking about the one that doesn't have ecm rules and every other rule that isn't used in a tournament.

I'd buy it!

PARAMOUNT MERGER
Several have asked if the possible merger of Paramount with other companies could affect our license.

No, it cannot, it won't, don't worry about it.

Our license never expires and we cannot be "forced" to negotiate a worse license. Our licensed transferred automatically the last two times Paramount changed owners and would do the same again (and again, and again).

We are expecting bad weather tomorrow and might shut down the company at some point during the day and reopen Friday or Monday. Due to my having RSV for two weeks we never did the December newsletter with the North Polar Ships, but we will release them with the January newsletter.

Right now the weather is cold/clear and I am going to the office. We were told the bad stuff would start at noon but the radar is clear.

Timing is one thing I learned that Weather People don't have.....

SVC: Looks like its approaching Amarillo on radar. The NWS national map shows a nasty looking cold front being pushed along by a couple of low pressure centers.

https://www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov//noaa/noaa.gif is the source I check daily to keep up with things and it looks like this system is going to make travel out that way... Chinese Curse 'interesting'.

Stay safe.

No orders will be processed on January 5. I will be having tests to see what the "suspicious stuff" is in the right breast. Odds are it is just stuff growing on the scars, but best to be sure.

We are definitely not going to be in the office tomorrow.

I worked Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, but had more skin cancer surgery Thursday and the doctor insisted that I not go to work until Monday. I left instructions for the newsletter to be sent as soon as Jean and SPP had cleared it.

Saturday we finally had the ADB Family Christmas Dinner that got delayed by me and then Leanna being sick. It was fun, and Jean really knows how to cook ham.

Hope everyone's doing OK down there with the sub-zero wind chill. Up here in mid-MO, we hit -13F real temp and -34 wind chill Saturday night; while you're not quite *that* cold down there, it can still be rough to keep the pipes from freezing et al.

It was 13F today while I was in town.

9 F in Prospect Kentucky. Even the horses got blankets...

My youngest boy did make FIFTEEN DOLLARS shoveling snow over 3 hours. He is so excited.

Congratulations on his making a profit!

It is 19F but we're expecting to get into the 50Fs by mid-afternoon.

Jean has the flu, and will be in the office only sporadically until she recovers. She is determined to keep orders going out but I told her that you guys would understand if she couldn't do it. If it comes to it, Leanna said she would go in and process orders.

Remember in 1965 had 24" of snow in Detroit. School was cancelled, went out and pushed cars with a friend and we made 75.00 apiece that day getting cars unstuck.

My youngest boy, age 11, made $15 dollars shoveling driveways last week. He worked at it for 3 1/2 hours.

He was so proud of himself and couldn't wait to go to "5 Below" to buy some headphones. Then McDonalds for a celebratory combo meal. Save money? NAH.

Good on the enterprising young man!

By Jeff Anderson (Jga) on Thursday, January 25, 2024 - 12:03 pm: Edit

Hey, Mike? At least he's learning the value of rewards for hard work; a lesson too few young men... People... Seem to be learning nowadays.

IMO, it's still a lesson that'll serve him well in life. :)

I know. It's the deep seated urge to spend any money at McD that irks me.

It's gotten so that mentioning McDs is allowed only once a month.

DISRUPTION IMMINENT

Right now, Albert (Jean's husband) is scheduled for hip replacement surgery on Monday the 12th of Feb. Jean will probably be out of the office most of that week and part of the next. (When you have surgery to replace a leg joint, you cannot be left alone for 10-14 days.) We plan to have some time when one of the rest of the "family" cover for Jean while she goes to the office and does orders.

Steve Petrick is scheduled to be out of the office on 13-14 Feb. He is having eye injections and due to the crowd at the doctor's office these will take all day.

Leanna and I had for some time planned to take off the 13th and 14th for a romantic overnight getaway. Given the above (and the below) we may stay at the house (or at least in Amarillo) due to the fact we might be needed.

Then word came today that Sunday will bring snow, officially 3-8 inches, enough to shut down the town for that day and maybe part of Monday. Weather forecasting for Amarillo is a form of Comanche Voodoo and notoriously inaccurate. Even Garth gave up trying to predict it. We've been known to have 10F one day and 70F the next day. So the snowstorm might be nothing or it might push Albert's surgery back a month. The road conditions might keep me (and Steve Petrick) home on the 12th, or it might be time for a warm picnic in the park. We just don't know, and won't until Monday morning when we look out the window.

We will give you more info when we have it, but there is a very good chance that answers to questions, tournament updates, and order shipments may be disrupted over the next few days.

Sounds like someone has a huge amount of Karma stored up that is starting to leak out of its container.

Be grateful that it all doesn’t cascade out in a huge spirit tsunami.

Pity that there are neutral bystanders/friendly fire casualties in the line of fire.

By Jeff Anderson (Jga) on Saturday, February 10, 2024 - 08:23 pm: Edit

Fingers crossed that the disruption is minimal, especially for Al's surgery.

Hope it goes well and he has a quick recovery.

Fingers crossed as well that SPPs procedure is also without incident.
