It hurts,a lot, I won’t see the office fipor a wwwek,or two, anyway. Today I stood up for about a minute, first steps will be tomorrow. Your thoughts encourage me. Not having fun.

Physical therapy today was a LOT of screaming and no progress. I got very depressed but the nice ladies told me it would get better. I am trying to stay positive but I have never been in this much pain.

Nice long talk with the surgeon today. My previous experience with the knee replacement and Albert’s hip replacement surgery are almost irrelevant.. I suffered a major traumatic event, and recovering will be three times as difficult and painful and time consuming. It may easily be a year before I get back where I was if I ever do. I will probably never get another shot at climbing Capulin Volcano. Very depressing.

Breakthrough today, walked six whole feet on parallel bars, things are seriously looking up, first time I had confidence that I will get over this. It won’t be easy but it will be over. I almost quit but a visiting church deacon said "God isn't finished with you; you still have something he wants you to do."
