Thursday afternoon I had a therapy session. While it was brutal and resulted in my being put to bed with pain killers and the worst pain I ever felt in my entire life, I did manage to walk on a walker 60 feet and later 40 more.

Friday morning, I started good, walking 110 feet without much pain or dizziness. Then I did the full range of exercises. Breakthrough! I am going to have another session this afternoon and the plan is for me to go home Wednesday the 14th. I have a goal to make it to church Wednesday the 21st. I beat cancer, weight, a broken left knee and a replaced right knee and a blood infection that should have been fatal, and I will beat this.

This afternoon I arm peddied a computer simulator kiddie car two miles in twenty minutes. Then without resting I walked on a walker 170 feet from the gym back to my room.

Today I managed to walk 204 feet on A walker, then 50 more after a rest. Then they shoveled me back into bed. Next pain pill is in25 minutes and I need it NOW.

I have no shyness in saying I hurt.

I can get around on a walker for about 20 minutes every four hours. The rules do not allow me to be alone. When walkering, someone on hospital staff has a hand through this big belt thing they strap under my armpits so they can stop the fall or manage a soft landing.

MONDAY REPORT
This morning was a disaster with both therapy sessions cancelled by massive dizzy spells caused by low blood pressure, in one case down to 78 over 57.
This afternoon was better. Not dizzy. Occupational therapy had me doing things like hanging rings on little hooks with weights on my wrists. Physical therapy produced my longest walk yet being over 300 feet.

TUESDAY REPORT
I had the “final exam” for physical and occupational therapy, passing both with flying colors. I walkered 344 feet. The staff doctor signed release orders for tomorrow. The case manager was just here to get the paperwork in order. By noon tomorrow I will be home.
