JUNE 2019 TO APRIL 2022
=====================================
The current (2019 and 2022) plan is to include only standard gunboats in GUNBOATS ATTACK. The Feds will get the Thunderbolt. (The F111 might go in a newsletter sometime.) The Andros would get their Adder.

This month's Hailing Frequencies newsletter is a preview Ship Card of the Romulan Decurion Interceptor.

Mike West Requested: In the CapLog after GUNBOATS ATTACK I'd like to see the Frax, Peladine, Paravian, and Carnivon gunboats.
SVC said he would consider these for a booster pack assuming that the actual rules for their empires/weapons have been published.

Preview material for Gunboats Attack was in Captain's Log #54.

Interceptors (many were seen in the newsletter) will be in a separate PDF booster.

NOV 2020
Mike West noted: Federation Commander seems to gloss over "footnote" designs. These designs do occasionally show up in the newsletter.
Andro MWPs are more interceptors (or fighters) than gunboats.
There are 13 empires that will need a gunboat and the Romulans will need two, and the Tholians and Hydrans will want multiple designs.
Logically, the monster will be BANSHEES. (SVC confirmed this in Dec 2022.)

SVC Said on 10 Nov 2020 that there would be no more gunboats in newsletters as we didn't want to ruin the sales of the product. SVC also noted that the sales of GUNBOATS ATTACK will determine how many boosters are done, when, and with what in them.

Mike West noted that a decision would have to be made whether the Tholians get the WEB version of the PH3 version.

It was noted that each card would have only one kind of gunboat as that would make it easier for players to construct the right "mix" for the mission.

SVC note on 14 Nov 2020 that Interceptors will be smaller cards, 5.5 x 5.5 inches, which would mean an interceptor booster could have 12 rather than 8.

Mike West proposed Andromedan MWPs with a 1/8 move cost, unmodified gunboat rules, give them a single marine unit (under the gunboat restrictions), and use the ship SSD unchanged. They have a Point Value of 20. They have six power, two Andro batteries, and two Ph-2s. I mis-stated above that the PA panels have no cost; they do. It costs an MWP a point of power to operate them. So, they get to choose a base speed of 24, power their PA panels, and fire both of their phasers every turn. The batteries let them do additional moves (acceleration, deceleration, HET, EM) as desired during the turn.
The main problem with MWPs is that they feel so ... pointless. Gunboats are all about being, uh, well ..., boats with guns. Lots of guns. MWPs are conspicuously lacking in the "guns" department. They are very easy to include, requiring no special rules beyond the existing Andro rules (for PAs and batteries) and gunboat rules. But, will anyone ever use them? They take one "hangar point" when carried in a hangar. They use (5V1) unchanged.

Eric Silverman said if the Feds will get Thunderbolts, which are conjectural units in SFB, why not bring over the Adders from C3A for the Andros as well? Then they'd be up to scratch with the other gunboats, and would actually get used.
SVC liked the idea. Mike West supported it.
