I really like the idea of the "alliance" version of the battle groups too. It would be fun to try to balance the groups within the 550 BPV limits. It could also open the process up to a lot more folks since player favorites wouldn't be blocked by someone who responds/posts faster.

So far as prototype X1-ships go, the (SH157.0) ZARMOLY BY THE TAIL scenario in SFB Module X1 portrays the Klingons' first encounter with the CX NCC-1749 USS Vincennes in Y181.

Notably, the Klingon ships involved were on a deep raid behind Federation lines; Star Fleet had yet to deploy any X1-ships to the front by the time this battle took place.

How about something on the Nicozians? They are interestingly different, and could add something to the Alpha and Omega sectors. Is playtesting still going on with them now?

To incorporate them would mean expanding them. Suppose that they finally found a non-rotating neutron star to settle. Suppose their home neutron star is where the Carnivons would be if they had survived, and the new home was in the Omega sector, maybe where the Branthodons were. As they moved their population to the new star, they were attacked by races who remembered their insane aggressiveness. After finally reaching their new home after taking heavy losses, they are in a really bad mood.

Does this sound interesting and plausible?

Thinking about the idea of alliances in Battleforce 550.

What about "Bridge?"

Four players in two teams of two. All four have their Battleforce 550 fleets. Player coming in from 2101 is teamed with the player starting from 2130. They face the team of the player starting in 0115 teamed with the player starting in 4215.

Objective is to defeat the enemy team with the possible addition of keeping your own fleet stronger than your team partner (just in case?).

Ideally the tactics part should include expectations of what your team partner will do.

"Oy! I ain't never flown (insert name of partner empire here) before! Gotta read up on them REAL fast!!"
