Well, so far as sentient-eating threats go, there are the Wasp People of Vereb IV (in F&E hex 2903); as noted in Prime Directive Federation, this species - placed under Protective Quarantine - has an unfortunate habit of sending ships out to raid Federation colonies, and then bringing any captured humanoids home for use as foodstock for their larvae.

Also, the Souldra aside, the spider-like Vari have a diet comprised exclusively of the blood of various forms of animal and insect life, which must be drawn from a live subject. It would appear that the Vari consider the blood of mammalian species to be somewhat of a delicacy - which might bode ill for any Mæsron or Auroran ships at risk of being boarded while patrolling that border.
