I noticed this late. I will buy one. (31)

One theory is to do a dozen or two decks (one deck per customer) for a "trial run". We will see if you guys like them once you shuffle them. If you do, we spin up the press for a run of 500 and everybody who didn't get one can get one. If not, we can print a small number for those who still want one (or a second or third one) despite things. I am loathe to print 500 of something I haven't tested. I am loathe to print 50 or 100 and throw away a needed slice of the market for 500. If we print 500, the cost drops enough we CAN put them into stores, but I won't print 500 and have you guys say "what crappy cards, things won't even shuffle". I am not familiar with this manufacturing process and want to be sure it's going to deliver quality parts.

^^ I understand and agree with the philosophy.

Yeah, that make perfect sense.

I think I'd buy a set of expansion cards, too (32). I've had students asking about the game (it is sitting on a shelf in my classroom). Might be a cool way to introduce new powers for inclusion in our FedCom games...

I am really looking forward to expanding the game! I will buy two (33-34)of the expansions when the become available.

Not sure where to put this, so why not here?
We had a real smackdown 4 player Battle Force game Saturday night at Total Con this weekend that went for over 2 hours and the consumption of many beers. Plenty of fun was had by all. Highlight of the game was one player using the Orion Battle Raider to launch an enveloped S torp and an overloaded Photon, along with a p1 for 26 total damage at the Klingon DN that was in the front line of an opposing player. Opposong player lays down a weasel card and follows it up with shield reinforcement and ECM card, taking about 1 point of damage from the entire attack.

I will as well.
Having received my copy of SFBF free when I joined the 'Camp Slayer Game Shop' on BIAP in Baghdad, Iraq in 2003, I kinda look on it as my patriotic duty to actually PURCHASE the expansion.
Please put down on copy for a purchaser in Auburn, Alabama.

I was wondering if this had been put on the back burner again.

Not really, it's just not one of the top five. It will probably happen after Origins.

Nice!

Please let me in on this. I'll buy one of each expansion. Regardless if the new cards are not seamless with the old ones. They are worn anyway. I might get two of each expansion so I can add more of one cards since there will be a smaller number of cards than the 33 originally expected. Do I need to email someone? I think that makes me 33...

(34) Count me in. I am loving this game.

Minor problem. The company that said it could do the short-run cards apparently went out of business, which at least explains why they didn't answer my Eamils. After Origins I will try to find another company with such equipment.
By Tos Crawford (Tos) on Tuesday, June 03, 2008 - 12:07 am: Edit |
Too bad you didn't know or you could have put in a bid on their equipment at fire sale prices.
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, June 03, 2008 - 10:11 am: Edit |
We are putting in a bid for some of their equipment but the machine that prints cards isn't on the list. Not sure what did or did not happen.
By Raymond Cameron (Whitewind) on Tuesday, June 03, 2008 - 09:19 pm: Edit |
We can still keep the list going though right? I mean just wait and keep the number climbing.
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Wednesday, June 04, 2008 - 02:44 pm: Edit |
Sure, but until I find a way to print the cards, it's just kind of frustrating. I'm in Origins Lock Down right now and won't even try to find a card printer until sometime in July or August.

I have been a great fan of SFB since the start and Battle Force is a great game in its own right and and easy way to introduce new players to the universe. SFB and Federation Commander will freak our younger players as they are use to playing Games Workshop games. Bring on the expansion I can confirm you will have an order for four sets from Wales.

Are there Blank Cards for sale?, or are the card backs available for download somewhere? I was looking to make up some of the cards listed in the download section and in Captain's Log.
Thanks
By Jean Sexton (Jsexton) on Tuesday, September 09, 2008 - 06:16 pm: Edit |
Phil, I asked SVC and he said blank cards are not for sale. He did say that the card backs could be made downloadable. If you will email me after September 22, I'll remind SVC to put it on his to do list.
By Lawrence Bergen (Lar) on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 - 10:53 am: Edit |
That would be a very cool thing to have the backs avaiable. Thank you SVC.
By Phil Shanton (Mxslade) on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 - 11:14 am: Edit |
Thanks Jean,
That will give me time to get another glue stick and give the brayer a rest after I made up all those Nuclear War, Illuminati, and Munckin cards I downloaded.
