Pretty cool. Can it cloak?

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Friday, October 20, 2017 - 03:16 pm: Edit

Can it lay mines?

By Nick Samaras (Koogie) on Friday, October 20, 2017 - 03:44 pm: Edit

I like how the turret matches the upper deck of the eagle ships, nice touch.

By Matthew G Lawson (Mglawson) on Friday, October 20, 2017 - 04:12 pm: Edit

You got it, Nick! I did have it with the curved part forward, but liked this look better. The whole design is the same template used for the Eagles, just manipulated differently.

Very interesting looking Romulan Plasma-armed Tank (could the designs of other species tanks be taken from a ship template). Nice one Matthew G Lawson.

ooh now I want a 3-fin wedge-Tholian tank

By Steve Zamboni (Szamboni) on Friday, October 20, 2017 - 04:49 pm: Edit

It's coming.

The wedges are mostly fast attack and reconnaissance stuff, though. Most of the Tholian heavy stuff are hexapod walkers.

By Matthew G Lawson (Mglawson) on Friday, October 20, 2017 - 04:49 pm: Edit

Thanks Wayne, I think you could definitely do some of the other Empire vehicles based on ship design. A Lyran Trireme hover tank could be sweet looking.

By wayne douglas power (Wayne) on Friday, October 20, 2017 - 05:27 pm: Edit

The Tholians sound great, heavys as walkers, reconnaissance, fast attack with wedges. Some Transport vehicle types perhaps.

By Stewart Frazier (Frazikar2) on Friday, October 20, 2017 - 05:39 pm: Edit

MGL - maybe for the heavy (GW) vehicles...

Adapted GHQ Microarmor rules?

By A. David Merritt (Adm) on Friday, October 20, 2017 - 06:35 pm: Edit

Is this one piece, or will the turret move? It would seem odd to me to have the gun off center line if the turret doesn't move.

By Matthew G Lawson (Mglawson) on Friday, October 20, 2017 - 07:41 pm: Edit

Oh, the turret would definitely move. Either a free circle or could hexagon it so it fell within hex lines.

By Dal Downing (Rambler) on Friday, October 20, 2017 - 07:47 pm: Edit

I would prefer if the current actually matched the eagle series or else why bother.

What scale 6mm or 15?

I perfer a round peg turret so if I use a hexless system we are not limited.

Looking for the hardline phone thingy for the infantry to talk to the TC. Or maybe a hatch at the rear for an Infantry squad to debark from?

By Matthew G Lawson (Mglawson) on Saturday, October 21, 2017 - 08:47 am: Edit

This really was me just playing around. Aside from the Star Fleet Marine counter explanaition pdf, I dont have any other source material at the moment.

Romulan Tank Concept

Needs some smoke grenade launchers or a smoke generator.

(Yes, I use a smoke obfuscation in-house rule for my SFM.)

Other wise, excellent work Mr. Lawson!

The thruster on top holds the turret down during high speed maneuvers?

By Matthew G Lawson (Mglawson) on Tuesday, November 07, 2017 - 09:58 pm: Edit

I think it's the hatch, lol.

By Charles Chapel (Ctchapel) on Wednesday, November 08, 2017 - 01:26 am: Edit

I like the 1st one as the tank, this one looks like a Stryker/armored car.
