Looking forward for a moment, I was thinking about what could be done for the "Mongoose" (Starline 2500-type) versions of the Hawk-series Romulan X-cruisers.

At present, the "standard" ships of this type (such as the SparrowHawk-A+) have forward-swept wings and a shorter prow; whereas the "fast" versions (such as the Fast SparrowHawk-A+) have swept-back wings and a more streamlined prow.

For hulls like the SparrowHawk-AX, might it be an option to have the wings extend sideways (as in, with the leading edge neither swept forwards nor backwards, yet still with the wings themselves swept "down" at the same 45-degree angle from the secondary hull); and also with a new prow design that borrows from both the "standard" and "fast" prow designs?

And also, might it make sense for each series of Romulan X-ship to have a slightly different type of strake? The "fin" addition shown above seems to work for the Eagle-series, though I'm not sure if they would fit the design ethos of the Hawk-series ships.

I'd like to ask a quick general question about future X-ship proposals.

Would it be possible that when a new X-ship is posted, there could be an image of the non X-ship it's based on?

Can't believe I missed that the KEX has curved wings, also missed the Tholian PCX had bulked out lower wings!

I've definitely thought of the Sparrow Hawk-X designs, but haven't put them to paper yet. They'll definitely get a new engine design, even different from the Eagle engines.

I agree the strakes probably won't have the little winglets, but not sure if they'll have anything extra added.

Definitely will try to do something with the wings, not sure what. The engine design may influence that.

I'll probably just be looking at the KEX for this month, then the other Romulan ships to follow.
