1) Skiffs can't be carried on mech links.

2) Can we move new ship designs to a more appropriate thread?

Klingon B9 Fast Battleship

By Chris Nasipak (Ecs05norway) on Wednesday, October 02, 2019 - 03:02 pm: Edit

@Nick Samaras:
> Lyran DNE and BCE from the Four Years War era.

Renderings of these were submitted some time ago, I don't recall what happened from there.

By Joe Carlson (Jrc) on Wednesday, October 02, 2019 - 03:38 pm: Edit

A Federation DE/DEA. A DEA has two additional drone ports which are not on the DDG.

Also a Federation ACL and NAC

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Thursday, October 03, 2019 - 05:02 am: Edit

The DNE and BCE never moved forward because they would be the only early years ships and there were too many other things to do before every sculptor spent a month or three doing nothing but early years.

By Mike West (Mjwest) on Thursday, October 03, 2019 - 09:28 am: Edit

While there is an Early Years Dreadnought that is similar to the DNE, the DNE and the BCE are Middle Years ships, not Early Years.

I don't know if that matters, but the DNE and BCE are actually Middle Years ships.

Okay, then. Let me see if I still have them on file.

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Thursday, October 31, 2019 - 09:02 pm: Edit

Now that I see that the 1/7000 scale ships exist in sets of 6, I'd like to advocate for sets of tournament cruisers, something like:

Set 1: Fed, Kzinti, Gorn, Hydran, Neo Tholian, ISC

Set 2: Klingon, Romulan FH, Lyran CC, Orion TBR, Andro, Seltorian

Set 3: Archeo Tholian, LDR, WYN GBS, WYN Aux, Romulan KR, Romulan KE

By Daniel Bostwick (Danbostwick) on Friday, November 08, 2019 - 04:28 pm: Edit

Will there be models added for the Kzinti carriers? Is there enough external differences to warrant this? Most of the races seem to have dedicated carrier models so I assume the Kzinti carriers would also be externally recognizable.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Friday, November 08, 2019 - 04:46 pm: Edit

They really aren't recognizable. On the art I did, we scratched our heads and then added a big window for the pilot's dining room.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Friday, November 08, 2019 - 04:48 pm: Edit

As for tournament cruiser sets, you would have to arrange them by sculptor, not by how they seem to fit together.

Thus Will would do the Fed and Klingon and KR.

By Steve Zamboni (Szamboni) on Friday, November 08, 2019 - 07:00 pm: Edit

Rearranging the windows on the Kzinti carriers was as far as I got without needing to do weird stuff to the hulls. The few with the tunnel bay leading to the belly run into problems with the stand needing to go in the same spot and we're back to indistinguishable.

The CVA will have it's own model as the launch tubes can break up the outline a bit.

By Richard B. Eitzen (Rbeitzen) on Friday, November 08, 2019 - 08:26 pm: Edit

The Lyrans sometimes 'rearrange' the windows on Kzinti carriers.

By Daniel Bostwick (Danbostwick) on Friday, November 08, 2019 - 08:37 pm: Edit

Ok. I'll stand by for a CVA model but use existing models for the rest. Thanks.

By Steve Zamboni (Szamboni) on Monday, November 11, 2019 - 05:07 pm: Edit

Looking closer at the CVA, it may be a mild dud as well. All the launch tubes are facing forward and hidden under the chin. Hmmm...

By Chris Nasipak (Ecs05norway) on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 - 03:37 pm: Edit

You could move them up... or maybe have them extend outwards along the same slope as the chin?

By Steve Zamboni (Szamboni) on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 - 03:52 pm: Edit

The kicker is the traditional shuttle bay doors are removed on the ships with launch tubes, so there's gobs of room under the chin for tubes (and less of an excuse to justify moving them elsewhere). I'm looking at ways to make things more prominent under there to at least look different from the side on the game table - maybe a keel under the chin (jugular?).

I have sent an SCS render in to verify that I'm reading the descriptions correctly.

Now that the 7000 line has been launched, has any thought been given to a multi-empire 6 pack tailored toward Basic Set? Say one cruiser for each of the major empires (Fed, Klingon, Rom, Gorn, Kzinti, Orion). Or is that too complicated given all the different sculptors?

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Thursday, November 14, 2019 - 09:01 pm: Edit

It is too complicated because each sculptor uses different software.

By John Williams (Johndw) on Monday, November 25, 2019 - 07:45 am: Edit

Wondering if we will see a 7000 scale Klingon Core set, next release? two releases from now?

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 - 05:27 am: Edit

It was sent to Jean over the weekend.

By Joe Carlson (Jrc) on Sunday, February 23, 2020 - 07:35 pm: Edit

SVC,

Will there be a separate Federation SCS?

Will various F-111 carriers be made? I am thinking of the DCS, and the NCL based carrier.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 - 05:46 pm: Edit

Sometime in the future.

By Jessica Orsini (Jessica_Orsini) on Thursday, February 27, 2020 - 05:40 pm: Edit

Hmm. Thought I'd posted this here, but searching the archives failed to turn it up. So...

...how about sets of turn gauges? The new 7000-scale line is magnificent for using the W0.0 miniatures rules, and a set of 1"-per-hex turn gauges would be fabulous with them.

By Joe Carlson (Jrc) on Monday, March 02, 2020 - 09:24 pm: Edit

SVC or Jean,

I thought on the Shapeways store there was a sprue of heavy shuttles that included the E-3 SWAC. I can't find it on the store. Is or will that be available?
