Crazy thought....
In an extreme case, could a G-1 be used the same way, on an E4/E5/F5.............................

Reference photos of the metal minis (which usually take precedence).

Looking at all those images makes me think it could have a shorter CR hull portion.

That would involve not "matching the metal". That isn't going to happen, unless SVC says so.
Shapeways OK6 compared-to Starline2500 OK6

Will:
It's really odd, that comparison image looks close in length, but the CR wings look further forward from the D6 hull. I think that's what is throwing me off with its look. It might be the different wing proportions on the SL2500 design as well.
I just wish it could be shortened slightly, maybe half as much between the D6 hull and the closed shuttle hatch?
A thought about the option mounts. Could they perhaps be added to the top of the wings instead of the edges? Either same shape as originally, but on top, or a bit still on the leading edge, and the rest on top? That might give us the clearance?
Engineering wise (on this historically one-off design?), with all the work to meld the two hulls, this might be thought worth doing to preserve the arcs?

I think it looks excellent as is. If you want a new SSD and a different looking ship ask SVC for an advanced technology version.

I think Will should do what looks good.

Although I like it the way it is (size and length), I would not complain if Will decided to nudge the Orion portion upward. While I agree with his take on the group mentality and appearance is key. I believe as case could be made for it if the bottom of the CR hull still encompassed the center Boom point.
As for the the landing gear seems like the Orion Captain being as 'strapped for cash' would want to recapture the landing gear spare part value to pay for the structural support needed to make this Frankenlovely work.
Nice work again Will.
Bolo 'crazy thought': For the love of Organia no!

"I believe as case could be made for it if the bottom of the CR hull still encompassed the center Boom point."
Agreed, Lawrence. That might be enough to just get the arcs clear!

I could see that. Players do want their arcs clear.

Okay, I said my piece about moving the CR section upwards and was going to leave it at that. Just one thing I want to clarify: if Will does decide the shift it, there should still be a distinct step between the tops of the two segments. The tops should NOT be flush. Even the gribbles (shuttle hatch) should be below the roof of the aft hull.
Again, looking at the front view, the wingtips "almost" have a clear RS/LS view now. I think it just needs the tiniest nudge. Maybe it already is "close enough" as-is. Who's going to notice from four feet away when it's on the gaming table? It the tweak worth Will's time? {shrug}
In the end, SVC has left it up to Will to figure out which way "looks good". If SVC is happy with it, whichever way it turns out, I will be, too.

EDIT: I just cross-posted with SVC.....

Agree with that also, Garth.

Will shifted it as much as he could. Nothing can make it work perfectly (we are not changing the SSD) but this is close enough. Thanks to Will for doing this even if it meant delaying another ship.

That's all it needed, in my opinion. Others may argue the length of the CR segment, but I think this is okay. My vote: count the phaser bumps and send it to print.
Great job, Will. Sorry for being a PITA.

Nicely done, Will. Great work!
If we paint it black, you'll never seen the hull scorching! Thanks again for putting up with us picky Orions!

The OK6 looks good, nice one, Will.
