THIS SEEMS TO BE WRONG. I CHECKED EVERY CVA-TO-SCS CONVERSION AND THEY ALL COST 5, WHICH IS THE COST OF PFT CONVERSION.
Dreadnaught: SCS: From CVA: 5+¶ should be From CVA: 3+¶ The CVA is already a carrier and should not be charged again for the carrier portion of an SCS. Thomas Mathews 28 Apr 2017

Obviously, I did all of the Lyran items, except for the ones sent to Ryan. When I get those fixed, I'll post another Lyran update.

Seems to work out, maybe, that I do an update and 24 hours later do another nit-killing update.
Lots of nits remain. I found more PFTs without +¶ glyphs, the HACs are a mess, and other things needed work.

General- double conversions. Three styles in use. I am not reporting "HULL‡: cost" style ones. I am flagging HULL: cost+FTR‡" style ones and changing them to HULL: cost‡+FTR". Rationale: conversion is of hull, and while the first form is different, it seems clear that the hull is impacted while the ones I am flagging one has to ask why the FTR are getting flagged. Choice of which standard to fix things to is arbitrary. - Howard Bampton 2017-04-29
Note- I figured out how to reliably generate the ¶ and ‡ symbols via cut and paste, so new reports should have those inline (Sun UNIX style keyboard and a Linux OS so I lack an option key and my ALT/meta keys are not quite the same). This should make designer changes more effective.
Note on Aux- I'm focusing on fixing the badly borked stuff. I figure once the main sections are good, I'll do in depth checks for MIA/AuxPod type stuff.
Lyrans use catamarans and trimarans...

FEDS note of auxiliary ship build costs: Recommend simply citing for each auxiliary build as follows: (549.121) Each empire may produce one auxiliary (of any type) per turn (the Federation, Klingons, Romulans, and the ISC may produce two per turn), but only one per year may be a large, jumbo, or heavy auxiliary. One large or two small auxiliary troop ships can be built each turn in addition to that number. Some auxiliaries have an “in service” limit (762.0). Some smaller empires have lower limits in their order of battle.
(549.121): #
(where '#' is the cost of production)
Quote:
All older references in the build column are now obsolete as the new (549.0) Auxiliary Warships rules cover their production.
By Howard Bampton (Bampton) on Sunday, April 30, 2017 - 01:59 pm: Edit |
FEDS- So I understand, this would be correct for the Lyrans:
FHL: (549.121): 4 (drop 1/yr reference)
FTL: (549.121): 6 (drop 521.23 reference)
LAC: (549.121): 4
LAS: (549.121): 6 (drop 317.1 reference)
FEDS: That is my recommendation but it is subject to ADB's final approval. The aux ships rules (549.0) were designed to unify the various aux ship rules including production. The preamble paragraph of (549.0) covers it which says:
"Previously, each had its own rule and those rules often overlap and contradict each other, and none of them are really complete. This rule combines, replaces, and completes all of the other [aux ship rules]."

NCA: The word "(minor)" in the Conversion Cost column should be replaced with the downward pointing triangle. F Brooks, 1 May 2017.
NCA Variants: Most of these units have the words "of NCA" in the Notes column. Since they are included in the NCA section of the SIT, they are pretty much by definition variants "of NCA", and this text can be removed.
NSV: Does this unit still hold the "Most Conversion Sources" record with the new base listings? If those are considered, I believe the SBX(FP) has the most (with 14). [GRIN] F Brooks, 1 May 2017.
STJ: The words "of CW" can be removed from the Notes column. F Brooks, 1 May 2017.

MP: Why is it with the DWs? I thought the Lyran MP defined it's own class - there are certainly many published variants (or am I thinking of the LDR MP?). I am sure GOD has his reasons, but it seems like a police ship should be with the police ships or frigates. A De Salvio, 1 May 2017.
FEDS CONCURS. Recommend new Lyran class category as "MP Heavy Police Ship" and base hull be listed as MP(4)and notes to read 'Base Hull Type (MP), Heavy Police ship'. Also note that another separate report recommends that the Lyran MP compot should be 4-5/None which FEDS concurs also.
Reference Lyran MSSB (R11.46):
This is a heavily modified Manx police corvette (R11.31) and is considered its own base hull. This ship is technically a variant of the Lyran Democratic Republic military police corvette (R14.14), which entered service prior to it. The Lyran Democratic Republic Fleet Police Ship (R14.44) is a heavily modified police corvette hull and is also considered to be its own base hull.
