I went to 1202 first, sending a dozen ships before moving anything else, so it was unclear what I was doing.

While I'm pretty sure the Coalition had more total SEQ in 1403, it was pretty close, and if I had used my AuxCVs and everything possible, I probably could have gotten something in there (over and above the ships in the neighboring planet), and the reserves nearby weren't *that* good. So to that out of the realm of reason that the Coalition just ignored me killing an FF with a battle line.

AT3

The turn is over!

The Kzinti killed a few small ships and liberated some space, taking no losses in return. The Hydrans killed both Lyran Border BATS, losing only a single LN for their efforts.

The Kzinti have most of their fleet in the Capital (about 90 ships), but they do have about 15 ships on planet 1504 and a small force on planet 1001. They have two middle sized reserves, one in the Capital and one off map.

The Hydrans also have most of their ships in the Capital (about 50 ships),, but they do have 25 ships on SB 0215 and a few small groups of FFs in the back field; the have a reasonable reserve off map (the not yet released Old Colonies Squadron) and a modest reserve (TR and a bunch of FFs) at planet 0519.

Klingons should have one more CP (free) Lyrans should have 2 less, I think.

By Jason Langdon (Jaspar) on Thursday, March 26, 2020 - 08:05 pm: Edit

Good point. The Lyrans have used 4. 2 in the Kzinti Capital, one for each of 0902 and 1304 I believe.

Thanks.

But the Klingons start with 6 and have used 2, so I think that is correct?

By Richard Eitzen (Rbeitzen) on Thursday, March 26, 2020 - 08:22 pm: Edit

Did you account for the free CP you get every turn, this turn?

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Thursday, March 26, 2020 - 08:47 pm: Edit

We don't get free Command Points. Admirals make that not happen.

By Richard Eitzen (Rbeitzen) on Thursday, March 26, 2020 - 08:56 pm: Edit

Yes, I knew that. Honest.

By Jason Langdon (Jaspar) on Thursday, March 26, 2020 - 09:32 pm: Edit

The Lyrans were getting CP each turn (I think) but have been paying for them.

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Friday, March 27, 2020 - 08:21 am: Edit

Yeah, the Coalition have been buying them (well, the Lyrans, at least); I think the Lyrans have purchased one per turn (easy enough to check; confirmed), and used 2 in 1401 on T2, and probably 1 over SB 0902; I can't imagine that they used on over 1304, as there was no defending force :-)

So if they started with 4 (IIRC), they should be at 5 right now (4+4, -3).

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Friday, March 27, 2020 - 08:31 am: Edit

CT4

Moves are well underway.

In Kzinti space, the Coalition are currently attacking BATS 0701 (which is still alive!), planet 1504 (still has PDUs and a significant defending force), planet 1001 (still has PDUs, has small defending force), re-attacking recently liberated planets 1105 and 1202, and have sent some ships to 1401 already, but not a ton yet. Still a whole lot of ships to move.

In Hydran space, so far, the Coalition have poured over the border, and currently are attacking 7BATS and both SB 0617 and 1017 (neither of which have any defending ships). At press time, there are about 60 ships that can reach the Capital (none of which are Klingon CR10 ships), but more than that many Hydran ships in the Capital, so it remains to be seen what their overall plan is.

Lots left to move.

By Paul Howard (Raven) on Friday, March 27, 2020 - 01:50 pm: Edit

SB 617?

I assume you mean SB 718?

Not sure why those SB's are not defeneded…… (and 215 is overdefended)?

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Friday, March 27, 2020 - 02:13 pm: Edit

Yes. 0718.

Those star bases are undefended 'cause on T4, the Hydrans have, like, 75 total ships. If there are a dozen ships on each of those SBs, there are two dozen ships in the Capital, and the Coalition crush the capital.

0215 isn't over defended if it wants to survive and survives.

By Paul Howard (Raven) on Friday, March 27, 2020 - 06:30 pm: Edit

Well, 617 can get defended by the Old Colonies Squadron (if you put a reserve fleet on it)…

but putting a single line of each SB I think is worth it!

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Friday, March 27, 2020 - 06:40 pm: Edit

Fantastic! Make sure you do that in your games, then :-)

By Richard Eitzen (Rbeitzen) on Friday, March 27, 2020 - 06:42 pm: Edit

Ouch.

By Jason Langdon (Jaspar) on Friday, March 27, 2020 - 08:06 pm: Edit

If Peter had defended his SB I would definitely have gone in and stripped his outer planets in the Capital.

Whether losing the SB for very little is the right or wrong move time will tell.

But the Hydrans have a mostly full economy on T4 and probably T5.

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Saturday, March 28, 2020 - 10:07 am: Edit

CT4

In Kzinti space, the Coalition have piled ships into 1401; there are now about 130 (plus 7 SEQ of fighters, mostly on F5Vs) Coalition ships there, facing about 90 Kzinti ships (and about 50 SEQ of fighters, most of which are on PDUs). As of press time, the only available targets left in Kzinti space that aren't under attack are planet 1502 (with 1PDU) and BATS 1805.

In Hydran space, as expected, the Coalition are crushing all border bases (except BATS 0315, which isn't under attack), and both SB 0716 and 1017. Both of these are being hit with more or less overwhelming force. Nothing has gone near the capital since they moved ships to SB 0716; planets 0416, 0519, and 0718 remain unattacked; SB 0215 in also not being attacked. There are still a dozen Lyrans at SB 0411 (who look like will probably end up as a reserve fleet) and 2 dozen Klingons in 1013 and 1214 (that also look like they'll probably end up as reserves) unmoved.

If the Alliance's plan this turn was to give up a couple of Hydran SBs cheap in exchange for having the Capital (and most of the economy) untouched, and keep SB 0215 alive, everything looks to be coming up Millhouse!

Movs are done, and reserves moved!

The only thing that really changed was that the Coalition sent a bunch of ships to planet 1502, and the Lyrans moved a MB into Hydran space, hex 0815, and are setting it up.

The Kzinti sent some reserve ships and their off map reserve to 1001, which might save it.

The Hydrans sent a not real impressive reserve to SB 0716, to at least do some damage in return.

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Sunday, March 29, 2020 - 10:07 am: Edit

CT4

Combat is mostly done, except for 1401, which is about to start.

The Coalition have destroyed 7 Hydran BATS and 2 Hydran SBs for limited casualites (13 cripples, 2 dead D7s); on the upside, most of Hydran space (and money) is unoccupied.

In Kzinti space, the Coalition killed BATS 0701, captured planets 1502 and 1504; recaptured planets 1105 and 1202; were chased off from planet 1001 by a reserve. So far they have taken 2 cripples and lost another D7.

In the Kzinti capital, the Kzinti have enough ships to put up singificant defense lines over most (if not all) planets that will be attacked. The Coalition have plenty of ships, but it remains to be seen if they are going to the 20PDU Kzintai meat grinder.

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Monday, March 30, 2020 - 12:49 pm: Edit

CT4

We are currently 4 rounds into combat in 1401; the Coalition have been sending 2 lines a round towards various non Homeworld planets; they stripped 3PDU off of Keevarsh (leaving 12 minus points of fighters to evaporate), and have devastated Zabottish, Vronkett, and Zaforma so far. Over PDU-less planets, the Kzinti have been fighting some, losing FF escorts and fighters for Coalition ships and cripples. The Kzinti have been rolling not that hot for the last few rounds, and on at least one round, didn't get to kill anything, 'cause they only did 9 damage.

On the upside, the Coalition are starting to rack up cripples and run out of fighters.

Remains to see how long they are going to stay; Strikus still has 2PDUs (and no minus points hovering over it). Vielasalm is also not yet devastated.

CT4

Combat is over!

In 1401, after 5 rounds of killing outer planet PDUs and devastating undefended planets, the Coalition fled. The Kzinti pursued, rolled well in the face of 8EW, and got to kill 2 crippled F5s in exchange for fighters. The Kzinti capital is currently at:

Kzintai: 20PDU, MB about to be active at start of AT4.

Kuballus: 0PDU, undevastated.

Keevarsh: 1PDU

Zabottish: Devastated.

Vielsalm: Devastated.

Zaforma: Devastated.

Strikus: 0PDU, undevastated.

Vronkett: Devastated.

The Kzinti lost 3FFs; the Coalition lost 5 small ships (including the ones killed in pursuit) and have 15 cripples on top of that.

Overall, in Kzinti space, the Capital was raided, planets 1502 and 1504 were captured; planets 1105 and 1202 were recaptured, BATS 0701 was killed.

In Hydran space, all border BATS except 0315 were killed; SBs 0716 and 1017 were destroyed, but the interior of Hydran space wasn't attacked.

Ships Killed:
-ZIN: FFK, 3EFF
-HYD:

-LYR: FF
-KLI: 3D7, F5, E4, (2F5)

SCD3 CT4

The turn is over!

In Kzinti space, the Coalition piled all their ships in 1403 (currently about 170 SEQ, including cripples and fighters), have small groups of ships holding down planets 1105, 1202, 1502, and 1504, and have 3 reserves (16 small ships in total) in 1407, with another 9 ships.

In Hydran space, the Lyrans pulled about 29 SEQ bck to SB 0411 (including cripples and fighters) including 2 small reserves; meanwhile in 0815, the Coalition are setting up a MB and have another stack of 120 some odd SEQ, and then plenty of random small groups of ships spread around in provinces. The Klingons have 2 solid reserves in 1013 and 1214.
