Moves are done and reserves are deployed!

On the Hydran front, 7 battle hexes. Giant mob at the capital vs the Hydran home fleet of about 50 ships and a reserve; likely pinning action at SB 0215; planets 0416 and 0718 being captured with no opposition; planet 0519 (and a couple CUs) being saved by a reserve; 2 hexes where mobs are killing a province garrison HN.

On the Kzinti front, 4 battle hexes. Planet 1001 is getting recaptured by a mob that will kill an FF; planet 1202 sees a roughly even fight of about 50 ships on a side, but the Kzinti have a leg up, numbers and fighters wise due to the inclusion of a reserve; planet 1105 is getting recaptured with no opposition; planet 1802 sees about 25 Coalition facing about 30 Alliance after 2 Fed and a Kzinti reserve showed up there.

On the Fed front, 4 battle hexes. Planet 1910 likely being kept in Fed hands by a reserve showing up; SB 3311 likely being a pinning fight (about 60 Klingons facing about 55 Feds and the SB); BATS 2308 being destroyed; planet 2715 being captured. The Klingons are also moving it to capture numerous Fed provinces.

CT9

Combat is underway! In Kzinti space, the Kzinti saved planet 1202, and a combined Fed/Kzinti force is currently fighting the Coalition over planet 1802 in a close, contentious fight.

In Fed space, the Klingons fled from SB 2211 after a declined approach, and have captured planet 2715; the Feds maintained control of planet 1910 due to a reserve showing up.

Plenty of fighting left to go!

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Sunday, July 26, 2020 - 09:34 am: Edit

CT9

Combat continues! In Hydran space, the Coalition have recaptured planets 0416 and 0718, killed an HN in a garrison in the back fields, and are currently fighting over the Homeworld. The Hydran force over the SB isn't that spectacular at this point, being about 166 with 8EW (there is an LAS on the line, giving the Coalition more to shoot at), as they are out of most cruisers. The line is a PAL, the remaining CCs, a couple DG, and then a BG of HR and CU.

On the Kzinti front, the Coalition recaptured planets 1001 and 1105; the Kzinti saved planet 1202, and Fed reserves showed up and saved planet 1802.

In Fed space, the Klingons have taken planet 2715 (the South edge of Fed space is soundly in Klingon control), and are currently fighting over planet 2106 (two roughly equal forces; outcome unclear).

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Saturday, August 01, 2020 - 09:42 am: Edit

CT9

Combat is underway over the Hydran capital. 4 rounds in, the Hydrans are down to very few actual cruisers left (something like 2 full cruisers left in the hex; plenty of HRs, but most of the CCs/DGs/RNs are vaporized at this point). The dice have been reasonably kind to the Coalition so far, allowing the Klingons to maul CCs without taking much damage in return.

It remains to be seen how long the Coalition are going to fight for, and if they are intent on taking the hex or not this turn.

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Tuesday, August 04, 2020 - 11:27 am: Edit

CT9

After 7 rounds in the Hydran capital, the Coalition fled, losing a couple crippled F5s in pursuit. The Hydrans lost 6xCC/DGs and an LAS, killing a bunch of cruisers in return. All the maulers self crippled to avoid rolling for shock.

The Hydrans still hold their capital at this point. Again, I imagine that the Coalition will push them out eventually.

There are a few more small, one round fights left, but most of significant combat for T9 is done.

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Thursday, August 06, 2020 - 10:59 am: Edit

CT9

All fights are done but the fight over 0215, where, unexpectedly, the Lyrans came in and have started SIDS-ing the SB. The Hydrans have about 55 ships, but over half of those are FFs. The Lyrans have 49 ships including a few maulers and a dozen fighters. It's unlikely that they'll be able to kill the SB, but it isn't impossible that they'll weaken it for a next turn killing.

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Thursday, August 06, 2020 - 11:34 am: Edit

CT9

Strike that! Reverse it! After a single round and a SID hit, the Lyrans lost all their fighters, crippled a few war hulls and left the SB. Combat is over!

In Hydran space, the Coalition recaptured planets 0416 and 0719; killed some province garrisons; demolished the Hydran cruiser force over the Capital, which is still in Hydran tentacles, but just has the SB over it.

In Kzinti space, the Coalition recaptured planets 1001 and 1105, recaptured most of Kzinti space, but we repelled from planets 1202 and 1802 by reaction forces and Fed reserves showing up at 1802.

In Fed space, the Coalition killed BATS 2308, captured planet 2715, and are currently holding a bunch of Fed border provinces.

Ships Killed:
-LYR: BC, SC
-KLI: 5D7, D6D, D5S, 2F5, E4, (2F5S)

-ZIN: FFK, FF
-HYD: LB, 2LM, LC, 2DG, CU, 2HN, LAS
-FED: CC, NCL, 2FF

Feds also lost BATS, 2PDU.

CT9

The turn is over!

On the Hydran front, most of the Coalition pulled back to hex 0815, but there is still a solid fleet at SB 0411. There is a mid sized Lyran reserve in 0815 as well.

On the Kzinti front, there are a lot of ships at SB 1403, Klingon reserves in 0908 and 1509.

On the Fed front, the Klingons kept ships in Fed space to capture provinces and hold planet 2715, but have a lot of ships protecting border bases. There are Klingon reserves in 1611 and 1714.

AT9

Raids have been assigned (to be resolved shortly), and moves have started (in places unaffected by raid outcomes).

The Hydrans are raiding 2 middle Lyran provinces; the Kzinti are raiding 2 Northern Lyran provinces, and the Feds are raiding 3 Western Klingon provinces on the original Hydran border they can reach from planet 1910. Most raids will probably be opposed by called up POLs, maybe one or two will be opposed by BATS fighters. The Lyrans could react a CA or something to one of the interior Lyran raids, but that seems unlikely.

In Hydran space, the Hydrans sent a pinning force to tie up the ships at SB 0411. In Kzinti space, the Kzinti have sent a pinning force (about 110 SEQ on each side) to tie up the ships at SB 1403. In Fed space, the Feds have sent a significant force from SB 2211 to tie up (and possibly attack) a force at BATS 1809.

Plenty of ships to move.

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Monday, August 17, 2020 - 02:00 pm: Edit

AT9

Raids are resolved (all succeeded, disrupting 7 Coalition provinces) and moves are mostly done!

In Hydran space, nothing particularly exciting happened--the Hydrans pinned all the ships at SB 0411 (about 50 SEQ on each side), captured some Southern Lyran provinces, reorganized some ships, and sent fleets to liberate planets 0416 and 0718, which both have token garrison forces on them. The Lyrans have a single solid reserve that can reach either fight, but they'll be outgunned in either fight.

In Kzinti space, the Kzinti were judicious with moves, pinning all the ships at SB 1403 (about 110 SEQ each), moved ships back to planet 1001, attacked some province raiders in 0901, are fighting some province raiders in 1303, and sent a fleet to BATS 0906. The Coalition have some ships that can react on, and some reserves that can get there, so it may or may not be a successful attack on a BATS. The only fight that Coalition reserves can make it to on the Kzinti front is BATS 0906 (and it isn't impossible that they'll be able to send a few ships from SB 1509 to SB 1403, but probably not worth doing).

On the Fed front, the Fed are attacking BATS 1809 and SB 1509. If the Coalition send reserve to help at SB 1509, the Feds can't take it. If they don't, they might be able to. The Coalition already have a solid fleet at BATS 1809, and also reserves could go there as well.

Not a huge number of fights, as the Feds and Kzinti are clearly avoiding having more Coalition ships pulled into their space, and trying to keep the Coalition reserves mostly in Coalition space instead.

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 - 12:53 pm: Edit

AT9

Combat is winding up.

In Hydran space, there were 3 combat hexes; the Hydrans killed a couple FFs taking back planets 0416 and 0718, and offered a declined approach at SB 0411, and then left. The lone Lyran reserve on the front declined to engage.

In Kzinti space, there were 4 combat hexes; the Kzinti beat up a couple province raiding FFs, offered a declined approach at SB 1403 (and then also left), and are currently fighting over BATS 0906, but it remains to be seen how serious they are about trying to kill that thing. No reserves moved into the Kzinti theater.

On the Fed front, there were 2 combat hexes; at attack on SB 1509 that saw a couple reserves show up and scare off the Feds and an attack on BATS 1809 that saw another couple reserves show up which may or may not scare off the Feds.

Not a ton of combat this turn; the Feds clearly didn't want to over commit to attacking various targets this turn, and didn't want to draw too many Klingons closer to Fed space, what with the incoming Romulans and all; the Kzinti clearly wanted also to avoid pulling too many Coalition ships into Kzinti space, to ensure that they could pin the Coalition out of their Capital this turn so as to finish setting up a new SB over the homeworld. And also wanted to maintain an open strategic movement path between the Kzinti and Fed capitals this turn, which succeeded (and could have been mucked up if they were any more aggressive this turn).

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 - 08:57 am: Edit

AT9

Combat is over!

The Feds ended up killing BATS 1809, mostly 'cause they wanted to keep the hex for retrograding the fleet that attacked SB 1509, but after shooting down the BATS, the Klingons dropped 40 damage on them, encouraging them to leave after burning up most of their fighters, which means that the deep fleet only can retrograde to planet 2106, which is slightly inconvenient, but not terrible. The Feds lost a couple cripples in the pursuit.

The Kzinti decided not to fight too hard to kill BATS 0906, and just gave up after an approach--they could have killed it, but would have taken more damage than they wanted, and the BATS isn't gonna go anywhere.

Ships killed:

ZIN:
HYD:
FED: 2FF, (NCL, FF)

LYR: 2FF
KLI: 3F5E, F5, 2E4

Klingons also lost a BATS.

By Richard Eitzen (Rbeitzen) on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 - 09:47 am: Edit

Not too much shooting.

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 - 10:19 am: Edit

Yep. There were two half hearted base attacks, mostly meant to draw reserves, which worked, and then they ceased to be a good idea, and then a few killings of province raiders.

The Kzinti and Feds mostly left the Coalition province garrisons alone this turn, to limit where the reserves could go to, and to keep the strategic movement path between 1401 and 2908 clear.

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 - 10:29 am: Edit

AT9

The turn is over!

In Hydran space, the Hydrans have about 50 ships at SB 0215, about 50 ships at the capital, some small groups of FFs spread around the map. There is a solid reserve at 0215 and a moderate reserve off map.

In Kzinti space, the Kzinti have the bulk of their fleet in the capital (150 ships, 29 SEQ not counting base and PDU fighters), including a solid reserve and a modest reserve.

On the Fed/Klingon front, there is a solid reserve and a handful of leftover ships at SB 2204 (which the Coalition can't reach to pin), about 40 ships at planet 2106, about 50 ships at SB 2211, a solid, unpinnable reserve at planet 2509.

On the soon to be Fed/Romulan front, SB 3611 got bolstered by a handful of ships, and has about 35 ships, including a solid reserve; there is a reasonabe reserve at SB 3604, a few ships at BATS 3212.

Here comes the Romulans!

I think the Romulans don't roll survey until they explore their onmap stuff.

Klingon built 2 maulers and converted 1. Can't do more than 2 every turn.

Romulans should explore on map area before rolling for out of map.

You converted 1 KRS, but unless you play with a strange setup you already have one on map and it's limited to 1
