ADDED In the event that the conversion adds fighters or PFs, these would have to be paid for at EP rates given in the rules; free fighter factors could not be used. Substitutions cannot be made.

(551.9) How fighters (or PF) are handled for upgrading ships with "conversion points"?

Also, only conversions can be done by this rule or also substitutions.

By Mike Dowd (Mike_Dowd) on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 - 05:21 pm: Edit

FIXED.

In TO, Added Shipyard Functions carries the rule number (454.0).

(454.0) was previously used for PF Storage Depots in CO.

I only noticed this after I had printed it out and was adding it to my "warbook".

SVC: NOTHING IS WRONG, BOTH DATES ARE CORRECT. YOU CAN REPLACE KE's in Y168 BUT YOU CAN REPLACE KRCs in Y164.

(660.0) in the two tables listing the replacement ships for the original series and kestrel series ships, the NH is listed as a replacement for the KE with an Adjusted YIS of Y168, but when listed as a replacement for the KRC is has an adjusted YIS of Y164.

By Ryan Opel (Ryan) on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 - 08:00 pm: Edit

SVC: NOT DONE. THIS IS NOT NECESSARY AND ACCOMPLISHES NOTHING. I PUT THE BLANK PAGE THERE SO THE NEXT SCENARIO WOULD BE ON FACING PAGES.

In TO the blank page #13 should be moved to between pages 20-21.

JEAN NOTED THAT MOVING IT TO 22 GETS (MOVING 21 TO 20) GETS 653 ON ITS OWN PAGE.

By fabio poli (Fabioz) on Thursday, October 21, 2021 - 07:02 am: Edit

ADDED: Any replacements assume that the new ship is available at the date of the scenario. If not, ignore it.
(I thought it was obvious.)

(700.0) Order of battle *clarification*
Hydran (good for other races, just in case)
Substitute for every CW and DW groups of 3 in fleet 1 ship with BAR or WAR, IF AVAILABLE (start date Y173)

ADDED TO 700 A NOTE THST IT OPERATES UNDER LTT RULES.

SIT Lyran (Tacs Ops)
CLT: how it works in mission as rescue tug?

By fabio poli (Fabioz) on Thursday, October 21, 2021 - 07:44 am: Edit

ADDED A NOTE TO SIT THAT B10T CANNOT PERFORM RESCUE MISSION.

B10T will be addressed in Advanced Operations 2021 right?

I AM CURIOUS WHY YOU THINK IT WOULD BE IN AO?

By fabio poli (Fabioz) on Thursday, October 21, 2021 - 12:18 pm: Edit

ADDED TO SIT
Ships with missing avail. date in SIT

ROM:
SEL Y175

KZINTI:
SRL Y132
SRLV Y168

WYN:
ZCM Y181

For FED VT: waiting updated OOB (schedule: 2.5)
None were in service in Y168.
ADDED: At the time of the General War, three VTs could be called up as police ships, counting against that limit.

DATA INCORPORATED

Fabio. I believe the answer you seek is in here: Star Fleet Universe Discussion Board: Federation & Empire: F&E WARBOOK: F&E Tactical Operations: Older Discussions retained for record: What Rules do you want included?

My post dated June 5 2021. It will be in the archive. Basically it follows the LTT rules for the Lyrans. Klingon Single Weight Type Pods only, plus the non pod missions that an LTT can normally perform such as Supply (mission D), etc.

For Rescue Tug Mission W it is treated as a LTT for purposes.

(553.0): As noted in the opening paragraph, the test-bed first-generation X-ship used by the Federation was NCC-1749 USS Vincennes. This ship is noted in the rule as being converted from a CC; historically, Vincennes was a CB, of the type listed under (551.13).

Thus, should this rule be adjusted in order to provide a more formal exception to the "base hull X-ship that is smaller than a heavy cruiser" requirement, permitting the Federation to take one of their newly-printed CB counters from Countersheet Tango and replace it with a CX counter as their "test-bed" X1-ship?

-----

(431.31): Could, or should, the Gorn DNEs (marked as "EDNs" as part of the Home Fleet) be presented in a similar manner to other "stand-in" Gorn ships of this era?

As in, one could replace "2xBCH (EDN)" with "2xDNE", and in the final paragraph add a line to the effect of: "The Gorn DNE is represented on the board by a BCH counter and uses the BCH combat values".

-----

(551.62): This rule marks the introduction date for the Fralli cruiser as Y130. According to (R2.A43) in Captain's Log #53, the YIS date for the Powerista should be Y166.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Thursday, October 21, 2021 - 04:28 pm: Edit

ANSWERS TO GARY CARNEY

553.0 Federaition X-ship date is Y180. History says Vincennes was converted in Y181, so it could not have been the testbed in Y178. The testbed was a different ship smaller than a heavy cruiser. NO CHANGE MADE OR NEEDED.

431.31: Rule 631.31 already says that.

551.62: Corrected to Y166 here and on SIT. I don't know how Y130 got into the chart.

ALL OF THE ABOVE DONE FOR THE 21 OCTOBER UPDATE.

I rearranged a few things to be sure 653 is a separate sheet of paper and that 658 and 660 are on separate pieces of paper.

Tomorrow I will make any further fixes and print the books for shipment to those who don't want covers.

CHANGED TO DNE MADE

I meant to type (631.31) instead of (431.31) in my previous post. I'm not entirely sure how I mixed that up...

What I meant to say is that in (631.31) itself - and, for that matter, in (631.41) - the Gorn DNE is referred to as the "EDN". Based on (R6.63) in SFB Module R7, plus the provisional listing in the most recent Gorn SIT, "DNE" would be the correct designation.

DEALT WITH

B10T rules absent in TO, SIT refers to a rule in AO (525.324) for conversion (read fusion) of incompleted B10 hull (at unexplained level) and TGA or TGB.

That is the reason i think B10 will be in AO 2021. ;-)

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Thursday, October 21, 2021 - 10:12 pm: Edit

The counter is in TO. THE RULE IS IN TO (NOW).

(551.223) Klingon B10T: The B10T was an unbuilt design combining the boom of an incomplete B10 with the rear hull of a Battle Tug. The Klingons may produce such a ship at any time from Turn #20 onward under the following conditions:
The B10T uses an existing tug with two existing battle pods. This battle tug is lost/destroyed by the conversion process. The Klingons could later produce more battle pods up to the limit.
The B10T “uses” an incomplete B10 with at least 20 points toward completion under (436.21); any points above 20 are lost. This incomplete B10 is converted into the B10T and is removed from the B10 program. The B10T costs six EPs (in addition to whatever has been spent to date on the B10). While only one B10T counter is provided, the Klingons may produce as many B10Ts as they choose within the rules provided.

EVERYBODY ELSE IS GETTING THE SAME DEAL.

(551.121) Gift you a war leader upgrade every 5 hulls (CW or DW) built.
You need to build the basic hull and then upgrade.

Hydran officers rejoyce paying for a TR and receiving a BAR instead.

I've no problem with that, wish to be sure just to avoid noxious moaning by the klingon/lyran players...
:-D

THIS IS NOT ACTUALLY POSSIBLE DUE TO PRODUCTION LIMITS ON SURVEY SHIPS, SEE 551.93 IN THE REVISED RULES.

(551.9) By using this rule the Kzinti can convert 2 ubiquitous CL in SRL for their full "conversion points" lot in Y168F.
And in the production phase they could convert a third CL to SRL for 5 points (or build directly by schedule).
Kzinti will have to pay 9 points fo the survey infrastructure for the 3 "new" survey ships.
But they'll start Y169S rolling 6 dice in survey phase. This is a, almost, safe discovery of a province a turn for the next 5 turns (10Ep and 10Vp in turn 6 Y171F).

Was this intended?

(551.71) Need to add Federation DEF. - Wyszynski 10/22/2021

(551.72) "not a DNL or CA-based" should also include BBL and NCA. - Wyszynski 10/22/2021

ALL ABOVE DONE

By fabio poli (Fabioz) on Friday, October 22, 2021 - 03:46 pm: Edit

@Stevecole
"THIS IS NOT ACTUALLY POSSIBLE DUE TO PRODUCTION LIMITS ON SURVEY SHIPS, SEE 551.93 IN THE REVISED RULES."

Given the SRL avail date is Y132 i don't think (551.93) can avoid this.
Unless for "revised rules" you mean a 21/10 update not yet available to download.

THIS IS THE ADDED TEXT WHICH DOES ENTIRELY SOLVE THE ISSUE
No empire can produce more than one survey ship per year by the use of this rule (and by all other means combined). Survey ships produced by conversion points cannot start surveying (or be sent off map) until the start of the scenario; there is no retroactive accumulation of survey points calculated from the theoretical time of their conversion.

Y172S should that be a † after KC9?

Gorn: Y168F: BO should be BD

632.53: Y179S, should that be a † after 3xHDW

632.53: Y179F, should that be a † after 3xHDW

The HDWT represents the three allowed substitutions. If above are true, I think this should be a †.

By Thomas Mathews (Turtle) on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 - 05:06 pm: Edit

(632.53) Y179S 3xHDWt should be 3xHDW† Reason: replace lower case t with the correct substitution symbol †. Thomas Mathews 26 Oct 2021

(632.53) Y179F 3xHDWT should be 3xHDW† Reason: HDWTs are variants of the HDW. HDW is the base hull and can be configured to any of the available variants based on the Year in question at the time of construction. Thomas Mathews 26 Oct 2021
