Combat is underway!
In Hydran space, no reserves deployed; the Hydrans killed a province raider right by the Old Colonies, and are currently fighting a roughly even force in hex 0311; the Lyrans had a fleet there (about a dozen ships) that declined to react into the SB fight when the Hydrans got there, so the Hydrans moved some ships out to pin them (allowing province raiders to move further north).
In Kzinti space, the Kzinti have reclaimed almost all of their space; I think the Coalition will hold a single Kzinti province and no planets at the end of the turn. The Kzinti are currently fighting over BATS 1107. The Lyrans sent a reserve, but the Kzinti outgun them, even over the BATS, so the fight will probably be short.
In Fed space, the Romulans made all their cloaked evasion rolls (which, to be fair, was only 4 of them), and avoided losing any small province raiders. There is currently a fight going on over planet 2610 that potentially could be protracted--the Feds have 58 ships (and a lot of fighters) where the Klingons have 48 ships, and not even a dozen fighters, so remains to be seen how hard the Klingons want to fight here.
The Gorn are currently fighting over ROM BATS 4910. The Gorn have 35 ships (including the newly adopted ZIN DDV group that got shipped over last turn for fighter support) and a significant EW advantage. The Romulans have 18 ships (many of which are small), no maulers, no DN, and no scouts after a couple modest reserves showed up. Also probably a short fight.
By Jason Langdon (Jaspar) on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 - 07:26 pm: Edit |
The Klingons and Lyrans are considering removing the Romulans from the Coalition.
On T10 they forgot to include about 50 ships worth of Pre-war construction, and on T13 they forgot they could attack the Gorn.
So on the eastern half of the board I am literally an entire turn behind.
By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Thursday, February 24, 2022 - 08:06 am: Edit |
Yeah, see I figured you didn't attack the Gorn intentionally--I had lots of ships at the SBs, and solid reserves in range of anything you could hit, and there weren't that many ships that could get anywhere other than the border BATS; I suspect you'll be able to kill all sorts of BATS this turn.
On the upside, the Kzinti forgot to keep you out of their capital on T13 (which they could have with a little better counting) and their T12 was mostly a wasted disaster, so mistakes are made on all fronts :-)

Combat is nearing conclusion. The Gorn killed ROM BATS 4910 (losing their TGS in return, also crippling a few ships); they are currently fighting over BATS 4710, which will likely see similar results (although the Romulans didn't do enough damage to sink the LSC).
The Feds liberated planets 2306, 2610, and 3210 with limited combat (the Klingons fought a round and retreated).
The Kzinti demolished BATS 1107, and then killed an unfortunate KLI TGA that had retreated from planet 1105 earlier in a fighting retreat.
A few more fights to go.

Combat is over!
In Hydran space, not much happened. A few ships died, the Hydrans captured some Lyran provinces.
In Kzinti space, the Kzinti recaptured most of their space and all planets (for now), and killed Klingon BATS 1107.
In Fed space, the Feds liberated most of their planets and plenty of provinces. The Coalition still hold planets 2715, 3612, and 3711.
On the Gorn front, the Gorn crossed into Romulan space and took out BATS 4710 and 4910.

The turn is over!
On the Hydran front, the Hydrans have 94 ships, a few Auxes, and 195+ fighters at SB 0215; a fleet of about 20 ships in and around hex 0118, about a dozen ships holding southern Lyran provinces. The Hydrans have a grand total of 3 ships comprising 2 reserve fleets off map (they ended up moving pretty much every ship they had to pin all the stuff they needed to pin this turn).
The Kzinti have 104 ships, plus auxes, plus 23 SEQ of fighters (and then 20 PDUs still) in 1401, including a strong reserve; about 15 ships at planet 1105; about 15 ships at planet 1202; about 35 ships at planet 1504; a dozen Feds are holding down planet 1802. They have another moderate reserve off map.
The Fed front sees a total of about 125 SEQ (including 2 strong reserves) in and around 2908 (and then another 18 SEQ of SB fighters), as the Coalition have about that many ships in range (probably a little less). There are also about 60 SEQ (including a solid reserve) at SB 2204, about 55 SEQ at planet 3509; about 20 ships at planet 3706; another dozen ships as a reserve at SB 3604. Numerous small groups of ships around the map, garrisoning planets and BATS.
The Gorn have about 45 ships at SB 4206; about 42 ships at SB 4806. The have 2 potent reserves at hex 4403.
The Feds sent another 20 EPs to the Gorns.

Raids happened and moves are underway!
In the Raid phase, the Coalition raided 4 Alliance provinces (3 Fed, 1 Gorn), and 2 bold POLs chased off the raiders (rolling 12's...), so 2 provinces were successfully disrupted.
So far in the move phase, the Lyrans have started rounding up Hydrans in southern Lyran space, but not much else so far.
By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Saturday, March 12, 2022 - 07:52 am: Edit |
CT14
Moves continue!
In Hydran space, the Coalition have started piling ships on SB 0215. They currently have about 160 SEQ of ships and fighters; the Hydrans have about 125 SEQ of ships and fighters. There aren't many Coalition ships left to move in the area, so it seems likely that the Coalition intend to kill the SB this turn.
In Kzinti space, the Coalition have moved a bunch of ships to planet 1105 (currently about 25 SEQ of Coalition facing about 20 SEQ of ZIN) and some ships to planet 1202 (currently about 15 SEQ of Coalition facing about 20 SEQ of ZIN).
In Fed sapce, the only things that have happened are small piles of ships attacking planets 2610 and 3210 (both defended by groups of 4 ships), but otherwise, nothing has moved.
On the Gorn front, the Romulans have crossed the border and so far have put ships at every border BATS on the xx08 line; most are currently under attack by a few ships, BATS 4208 is under attack by a dozen+ ships (other than a few DDs, nothing is currently defending these BATS). Planet 4309 is under attack by a few ships.
Lots of ships left to move.
By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 - 07:35 am: Edit |
CT14
Moves continue!
In Fed space, the Klingons sent a bunch of ships to planet 2708 (no PDUs, but understated), met with a slightly larger bunch of ships that reacted in to fight (about 40 SEQ on a side, but th Feds have an edge); they also sent a bunch more ships to planet 3210, so now they will certainly take it from the 4 ships defending it.
On the Gorn front, the Romulans shored up their attacks on most border BATS and the NZ planet in 4309. The Romulans cleverly moved to avoid any interaction with the piles of ships on the two Gorn SBs after their first couple moves, so most of the BATS will go down with limited, to zero, damage to them.
Still lots to move.

After a break due to real life issues, we are back and moving!
The Klingons reinforced their attack on Fed planet 2306; the Feds reacted on a CVA group from SB 2204. Currently, the Klingons will take it, but there are still plenty of reserves in range. The Klingons and Lyrans moved a lot of ships to planet 1504, which is defended by a not insignificant Kzinti fleet, but they will certainly take if they are so inclined.
A few other ships moved around. There are still a few dozen Klingons that can get fairly deep in Fed space.
More ships to move!
By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Sunday, June 05, 2022 - 08:30 am: Edit |
CT14
The Klingons have sent a couple dozen more ships to planet 2306, where the Klingons have probably twice as many ships attacking as the Feds have defending it, if not more, so the Klingons will probably recapture this planet.
There are still ships to move, but not many, and not many that can do anything exciting.
By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Sunday, June 05, 2022 - 08:23 pm: Edit |
CT14
Operational moves are done and reserves have been deployed!
In Hydran space, 3 battle hexes. 0211 and 0313 see province raiding Hydran FFs get killed by larger forces. SB 0215 sees a lot of Coalition vs a lot of Hydrans (100+ ships per side); the Coalition have a ship advantage. They might try and kill the SB.
In Kzinti space, 4 battle hexes. 1001 sees a bunch of Lyrans killing an FF and recapturing the planet; 1105 sees a bunch of coalition probably retaking the planet from a battle line; 1504 sees a bunch of Coalition probably retaking the planets from a smaller, but not insignificant Kzinti force; planet 1202 sees a large, advantaged Kzinti force (including two solid reserves) probably saving the planet from a smaller number of Coalition.
On the Fed/Klingon border, 6 battle hexes. Planets 2106, 2509, and 2610 will be recaptured with minimal or no opposition; planet 2306 will probably be recaptured, but the Feds can fight some with a reasonable, but smaller force; planet 2505 is under attack by 15 Klingons and might be saved by a couple reserves (totaling 24 ships, and still 2xPDUs); planet 2708 sees two large forces in the 40+ ship range, but the Feds have an extra dozen from reserve.
On the Fed/Romulan front, 3 battle hexes. Planet 3210 will be recaptured by a large Coalition force, killing an FF; BATS 3508 will be killed by a large Romulan force; planet 3509 is defended by a large Fed force and under attack by a similar sized Romulan force, so outcome unclear.
In Gorn space, 8 battle hexes. BATS 4208, 4408, 4608, 4808, and 5008 will all be killed for minimal damage, as large Romulan forces attack minimally defended BATS. BATS 4008 might be saved by a Fed reserve and a few Gorn ships. BATS 4506 might be saved by a pair of Gorn reserves facing a smaller number of Romulan attackers. NZ planet 4309 will be captured for minimal losses.

Combat is underway.
In Kzinti space, the Coalition retook planets 1001, 1105, and 1504, killing a few FFs and losing some D5s and a D7. The Kzinti held on to planet 1202 due to reacting forces and then some reserves that reinforced the fight.
In Hydran space, the Hydrans lost a few FFs in Lyran space, and are now fighting over SB 0215. There were 2 rounds of approach, where the Hydrans lost a couple FFs, dropping damage on the Coalition both rounds, but the Hydrans rolled 1's in both approach rounds, with a -1EW shift, so they didn't do much other than cripple about 5 total CWs. The fight has moved to the SB, where the Hydran compot is about 180.

Heh, they might!
CT14
We are now 4 rounds into the fight over SB 0215; in the first 3 rounds (2 approach, 1 over SB), the Hydrans rolled 1's, and just killed some fighters and crippled a handfull of CWs and F5s. In R4, the Coalition rolled a 1 and the Hydrans rolled a 5, so they did 60+ damage (compot 182/3 vs 118/4). The Coalition have been consistently directing Hydran ships (CR, CU, RN so far), and the Hydrans have been consistently dropping damage, so we'll see how this goes.
By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 - 08:41 pm: Edit |
CT14
SB 0215 holds! The Coalition fought a couple rounds of approach, and then 6 rounds over the SB before deciding they took enough damage and fled, losing a few ships in pursuit.
The Hydrans had discipline, and just dropped damage every round, while the Coalition took the opportunity to kill Hydran cruisers as often as they could. It was an ugly trade, but the Hydrans wanted to keep their SB, and the Coalition seemed happy taking cripples and killing cruisers. After the 8th round, where the Hydrans finally hit a 6 with a free autokill, the Coalition fled.
The dice for the 8 rounds were:
KLI: 2, 6, 4, 1, 1, 5, 4, 3 (3.25)
HYD: 1, 1, 1, 5, 4, 2, 3, 6 (2.875)
So both sides rolled numerous 1's and a 6 each, and the Coalition rolled a little better, and had a EW advantage most of the time. Both sides rolled a 6 in the pursuit round, but BIR was low, so the Coalition couldn't maul or direct kill anything.
The Hydrans lost LM, 3RN, NEC, CR, AH, CU. The Klingons took about 42 cripples (mostly CW/D5 hulls; 141 points of repair, or 70.5 EPs) and lost a DW to the autokill, and then crippled CW and F5 hulls in pursuit.
Lots of fights to go.

We keep fighting. In Fed space, the Feds lost planets 2106 and 2306 (again), saved planet 2505 (which still has PDUs) due to a couple reserves, and held planet 2708 (which was stripped of PDUs last turn, but a lot of ships reacted on). BATS 3508 got vaporized, and planet 3509 is currently a few rounds in--both the Feds and the Romulans have a lot of ships, but the Feds have an EW advantage (and just killed the best Romulan scout in the hex), so a slight edge for them.

Starting to wrap up combat--the Feds managed to keep ahold of planet 3509--both sides had a lot of ships, and the fight could have gone for a long time, but the Feds killed the only good scout the Romulans had, and after that, the sides were roughly equal, except that the Feds had an EW advantage, so probably not worth their effort, especially given that they just recaptured planet 3210 as well.
Over in Gorn space, the Romulans killed BATS 4008, losing an SP for their trouble (if the Fed/Gorn force had rolled up a pip or two, they would have killed the mauler); BATS 4208 went down for fighters; they also captured neutral planet 4309. 4 more border BATS will go down for minimal damage to the Romulans; BATS 4506 might go down, but both significant Gorn reserves went there, and will probably do a bunch of damage in return.

Combat is over!
In Hydran space, some province raiders were killed, and an abortive attack on SB 0215 saw a whole lot of Hydrans killed and a whole lot of Coalition crippled (70.5 EPs worth). But the SB lived for another turn.
In Kzinti space, the Kzinti lost planets 1001, 1105, and 1504 again, but held planet 1202 from attack. Planet 1502 and 1802 were not attacked, and remain in Kzinti paws.
On the Fed/Klingon front, the Feds lost planets 2106, 2306, 2509, and 2610 again; they held on to planets 2505 (which still has PDUs) and 2708 (which does not).
On the Fed/Romulan front, the Feds lost planet 3210 and BATS 3508, but held onto planet 3509.
On the Gorn front, the Gorn lost all 6 border BATS, but held on to BATS 4506 from attack.
Ships Killed:

In Hydran space, the Lyrans have about 70 ships (and 8 cripples) including a full reserve at SB 0411; the Coalition have about 100 ships, including a dubious reserve (and then another 35 cripples) over 0617 (also, 2xSB, 4xFRD).
On the Kzinti front, the Coalition hold the edge provinces and planets; the Kzinti control the core of Kzinti space. The Lyrans have a dozen ships on planet 1001; the Klingons have 15 ships on planet 1504; the bulk of the Coalition force on this front is on planet/SB 1407 (about 100 ships).
The Fed/Klingon front sees about 20 ships on planet 2106; about 80 ships on/around planet 2306; about 40 ships in hex 2709; 2 solid reserves on planet 1910; a feeble reserve on SB 2914.
The Fed/Romulan front has about 40 ships (mostly Klingon) on planet 3210; about 40 Romulans on planet 3711.
The Gorn border saw most of the Romulans move back inside Romulan space, with about 70 ships in the NW corner of Romulan space, about 50 ships on or around SB 4411 (center North of Romulan space), and then another dozen ships as 2 reserves on SB 4411. SB 4812 is defended by about 15 ships.
