We like to keep track of the dead ships and bases in our games. Any chance you could add a fleet to each race and call it something clever like DEAD SHIPS?

The Commercial Convoy Route areas of the map are misspelled as "Commmercial Convoy Route", for both sides.

James, just a couple of things I've noticed while playing:

The neutral PDUs fighters aren't registering for COMPOT or when moused over.

Kzinti FCRs aren't registering the fighters in brackets.

Good news is the Z-FCR was fixed a while ago (in my working copy).

The neutral fighters look right. But they don't report. I'm going to have to dig into that.

Map has been fixed. Not currently planning on a dead ships pile; I figure that everyone can figure their own solutions to that. (But now I think about a place for them to park with separate tracking... bah.)

Even better news, I'm nearly done updating all the save game files with the WYN in them. Then its back to adding the ISC and Minor Empires additions, and 2.1 should be ready.

I just saw this while doing turn 10-A: the Hydrans are missing KNHs and their variants. I know they weren't historically built, but according to the SIT they can be.

James not sure if you noticed but the Tholian starting fleet listed in the Emprire Report is counting certain LDR units as Tholians.
The ones I can remember are CL, CW, CWS, DW, FF, MP, MPS, POL, and MON-V. They throw the Tholian count off showing 77 instead of 59 (when one deletes the ships)

That was reported very early on. You can actually fix them with the 'recapture' command, as the only thing wrong is the initial value, not the values the capture menu items set them to.

This is of course fixed in the upcoming 2.1. (Need to get the Vudar done.)

Not sure if this is a known issue, but there are no base versions of any empire's HDW. Also, SFBs (stellar fortresses) seem to be missing as well, even with the extras included.

For SFB:

V1.3.1 or V2.0 are from 2012 and 2016 respectively.

For HDW:
Don't know but why would you build one unconfigured?

Generally speaking, the base version of the HDW is the HDW-K combat version.

Stellar fortresses weren't an official F&E unit until TO came out, and I don't think there were any good stats for it until then. I need to polish off the v2.1 update (close now), which will have SFBs and SFXs along with all the other TO units, with the same type of EW controls as the existing SB pieces.

At long last, the new version of the F&E Vassal module is out! The file is attached to this thread.

Please save the zip package to where you keep your modules, and then extract everything. The extensions will then be seen by Vassal (as inactive) once you open the main "F&E 2.1.vmod" file through the module manager. There is also a new version of the User Manual PDF, which I recommend you look through.

Right after releasing 2.0 I started work on a 2.0.1 to fix some problems (most notably LDR ships initially reported as 'Tholian' in the inventory windows), and then went to 2.1 when I added some new features while playing "Konya wa Hurricane" with Byron. I got some feature requests that, along with the need to upgrade all the save game files, made the finishing touches drag out until the project backburnered itself. And then Tactical Operations came out.

I have, in fits and starts, spent much of this year adding all the new units from that to 2.1, finished off the upgrades, and a couple new extensions. The full list of changes is in version history file (look in the Help menu), but here's the main highlights:



Warning: Some changes require careful handling to use a 2.0 game in v2.1. Notably, I fixed the spelling on the two Kosnet fleet boxes, so units in there will disappear when going to 2.1. Just move everything out of them in 2.0, save, open in 2.1 and move them back. Also, sector borders will disappear from games using the large map, and fixing that is a little tricky. The entire upgrade procedure for a saved game is in an appendix of the User Manual, or just send me a message and the current saved game file, and I can do all the upgrading for you.

Another hidden change to the module is I ended up with an insane number of prototypes to handle all the variations in tracked stats. I've gone to a system that is messier on the piece side, but only needs a couple of prototypes. The old pieces still use the original prototypes, so cleaning that up is a long-term goal for the module. Past that, further set up files would be good to do, and I want to do an extension for the Romulan Civil War scenario in Captain's Log #50.

I've also contemplated adding background graphics to the fleet boxes (like has been done for the reserve fleets), but a unique one per fleet would make the module size balloon even more (this is about twice the size of 2.0), though a common one per empire is possible.

I'd like to hear thoughts on that and any other features that could be handy. One that I need to look into is giving each fleet marker a command to open the appropriate fleet window.

What version of vassal does this need? I don't remember which I have installed, but I know I haven't updated in ages.

The last version I used creating this was 3.6.17. Probably, any 3.6.x would be fine, and the current 3.7.1 will be fine. (Older ones would also be fine, as I don't use any advanced features, but Vassal's version control won't let you attempt it.)

Possibly not the latest OoBs, I don't think I updated anything for the main empires past the FO 2016 additions. (ME and WYN TO OoBs are in there.)

If there's any scenarios that don't have set ups that you'd like to contribute, just send them to my profile email, which is also referenced on the splash screen of the module and a few other places. But it might be best to ask about them here or in email first before going through the effort.

May I ask, what ships are included in the Extra expansion?

They are included in the several menues but I lack the overview about all the ships to distinguish between the ships from official products and the extras burried in between.

At the moment, not much, as most of the Extras were in TO, and therefore moved to the main module.

Let's see: F-BC1 (BCP), F-BSC, F-NAF, R-KGW, R-KXW, R-KVW, R-KEW, Z-CAM, Z-DDS, Z-WSCS, Z-DWVP, T-NSCS, H-TEM+, H-D7X, L-JGX, L-CLS

And a bunch of ISC classes, and a lot of WYN classes.
