Anyone know how to design new education packages?
I can't find a consistent pattern to the ones in Klingons d20.

Gorns with tails? That was mentioned in the James Blish adaptation. We've got three species of Gorn, can't one? Please?

Mark. Send me an e-mail (see profile) and tell me what you're looking to do.

Bought the d20 Prime Directive book (in addition to the GURPS one) so that I can introduce my club's d20-ers to an actually _good_ SF setting.
Has anyone got a cool PD20 character sheet I can use?
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Saturday, May 27, 2006 - 03:24 pm: Edit |
It's on the website (somewhere, nobody can find it). I sent another copy to the webmaster. Anybody who wants one just email me and I'll send you your own copy. It's too big to post on the BBS.

Just got my copy of PD D20 and am highly impressed. I was happy to see the class structure as presented and how well D20 Future would integrate, as well.
Having bought, but never played, the Stargate SG-1 books (using the Spycraft engine) I was half expecting more of that approach, but am happy so far.
My only question is, if the G-1 gunboat plans sell well enough, when can we expect some Cardboard Heroes sets for PD?
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Friday, July 28, 2006 - 11:32 am: Edit |
The G1 plans didn't sell much, and of course already included their own cardboard heroes.
Cardboard heroes sets run into a number of issues, contractual and cost. Jackson just doesn't want to bother giving us a separate license for CH. Artists also tend to expect to be paid a reasonable amount for each figure and when you're looking at 27-40 per package the up-front costs tend to be in the higher end of the budget. Doesn't mean we won't; we could at any time. I just have more to do than I can get done.
By Lars Fausnacht (Larsfausnacht) on Friday, July 28, 2006 - 01:46 pm: Edit |
SVC, hmm, I certainly understand your point and kind if figured that was the issue.
It seems as if SFU already has a lot of artwork for figures (Klingon females, etc) so would it be within your existing licenses (and costs) to use that existing srt for non-SJG tentfold figures?
Makes me wish that I had any drawing talent. I would volunteer my art to ADB just for the credit and satisfaction.
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Friday, July 28, 2006 - 02:12 pm: Edit |
Lars: those Klingon female pics are the ones from the G1 deck plans tentfold figures. They're the only ones we have. There simply isn't a bunch of art laying around unused.

Well you could try this site(http://dialspace.dial.pipex.com/town/place/yht68/trekminis/), and see if there is someway to convert it to a jpeg, or some form of graphic file, and then print it out, and attach to cardstock, and make your own cardboard heroes...

Hey Steve,
how did you make the d20 PD character sheet? I mean, is it a photoshop combination of the PD logo and the various d20 character sheets?? Done via mac or windows application?/
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Saturday, July 29, 2006 - 04:26 pm: Edit |
No idea. I am not the one who made it.
By Lars Fausnacht (Larsfausnacht) on Sunday, July 30, 2006 - 06:13 pm: Edit |
Kana, I am going to give that site a try later tonight.
SVC, If you could come to a licensing deal, let someone else to the work of tentfold minis for you:
http://imdb.com/title/tt0413300/
I have tried some of their fantasy products and am quite pleased with the overall quality. And you can customize what minia you want to print, and even add numbers (for hordes of enemies).
Just a thought.

I wonder how DND 4th edition will affect d20. I have heard that it is possible the OGL license might change.

Lars, what's with the Spiderman 3 link?
By Andy Palmer (Andypalmer) on Monday, August 14, 2006 - 07:59 am: Edit |
Darren. The Wizards website says that 4th edition is coming out April, 2011 - i.e., no need to worry about it now.

The guys at the Mongoose site at Gencon is where it was told to me. According to them, that is why they rushed B5 RPG 2nd edition out so that no matter what happens to the rules, they would already have a product out with a license for it.
By F. Douglas Wall (Knarf) on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 - 02:59 pm: Edit |
But then again, this is Mongoose we're talking about. They were probably looking for an excuse as to why their new product wasn't playable or something.
(Sorry, if anyone out there likes Mongoose. I have been completely unimpressed with what product of theirs I have seen, and have heard horror stories about what happens if you tell them their product isn't very good.)
By Troy J. Latta (Saaur) on Thursday, August 17, 2006 - 08:10 am: Edit |
I wouldn't let Mongoose rules into a real campaign, but they were golden when I was running Cheesy Munchkin Adventures! Broken feats and prestige classes everywhere!

Loren, sorry for posting the wrong link. I think I had that link on the clipboard at that moment.
What I had been suggesting was Politically Incorrect Games. I have tried their fantasy tentfold minis and am quite impressed.

That should hopefully work better.
Sorry for the delay--getting ready for a new college semester.

Any idea when or if any PD D20 errata might be posted in the after-action section? Thanx!
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Saturday, August 26, 2006 - 01:00 pm: Edit |
Andy Palmer, do we need any errata as mentioned in the above message?
By Andy Palmer (Andypalmer) on Monday, August 28, 2006 - 01:57 pm: Edit |
Updated Errata file sent.
By Rich Brooks (Richbrooks) on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 - 05:42 pm: Edit |
Gents, I assume that since the errata file hasn't been posted that it takes a few days for the webmaster to do it? Just making sure I looked in the right area for it (within the after-action thread). Thanks for looking into it so promptly; only 43 minutes after I posted SVC was on it That's cool!
By Andy Palmer (Andypalmer) on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 - 10:48 pm: Edit |
Rich. There is a good chunk of errata ready to post but there are still a few outstanding items that we are working on. I'm not sure if SVC will have the partial posted or will wait for the complete one (which shouldn't take long).
