Colin,
just remember that PD is the SFU and the one thing I can tell you all is that I have done my developement and extrapolations from that.

The other thing I'm comfortable saying is that their story is... epic.

One other thing to consider, GPD is compatible with the rest of the GURPS line. So if you want to play traders in the SFU, you could borrow the economic/commerce system from GURPS Traveller: Far Trader and use it with characters generated with GPD.

Other GURPS: Space, GURPS Traveller and even GURPS world books can be raided for ideas for a GPD campaign and the beauty part is the material is already GPD compatible.

If you are already a GURPSie then you already have a store of GPD compatible stuff for use with your campaign.

Also, SJG makes some GURPS Traveller information available for free in their e23 shop. Those adventures are also GPD compatible.

The background stuff in GURPS or D20 PD is pretty much the same, but the sheer volume of existing compatible material already out for GURPS makes it a more flexible choice for a PD RPG engine in my opinion

Getting onto any staff usually takes more than a one-time volunteer post. Every time a new product comes out, get it, read it, study it, play it, and then send Jean a detailed report. Over time, she will know who she wants to recruit. Impress her BEFORE she needs somebody, that's the way to get on her staff.

Hey! Is there any possible progress to GURPS PD? At the time, someone in the books was saying that Gorns and many others were going to be full books.

I have had experience with GURPS since "Man to Man" and my experience with Star Trek is even older. I know I'd like to see some, if not all, of the books that were mentioned as physical product....

We're doing some reorganizing to give Jean more time to fix GURPS PD, edit new empire books, and supervise people doing new systems. Hasn't really gotten moving yet (busy with CL51) but it's Jean's next to-do thing.
