Hmmm... I can't find, nor have I seen those posts. Sorry, I'm new around here. :-)

Sorry to hear the sculptor is ill.

It's a huge BBS in a huge web site. We try to avoid multiple posting of news since it just makes everything worse, but it can be hard to find certain posts when you need them. Welcome to our maelstrom and make yourself at home.

I was wondering if anything became of the miniature idea for any of the many forms of PD. They are sorely needed for those of us who use them for combat.

The sculptor doing them spent six months in the hospital. His family has asked me repeatedly to give him a little more time to get back to work.

Sorry to rub salt in a wound, I'm just salivating at the prospect of such miniatures and I didnt know if the sculptor was still ill. My best wishes to the sculptor.

Sadly, I need to replace him on the project but when I look at my list of things to do and say "I probably won't get to the PD minis this week anyway given all else there is to do" I just give him another week. He's a VERY old friend. He did the covers for the first two editions of SFB back in 1979. I hate to tell a man who is desperately trying to stay alive that I am not going to wait for him to get better. But sooner or later, I'm not going to be able to delay the decision.

Vince -

I know that Wonderworld Books and Games has quite a few of the older PD minis. www.wonderworldbooks.com

Here is my hope that one day you call and he says he's very glad you called and is ready to get to work.

I'll see if I can't get the Tholian redesign to you soon just in case that happens.

I talked to his wife a couple of weeks ago and she said that he had been working on some of the figures, doing the wire armatures and molding epoxy around them and starting to cut some. Somebody remind me in an hour and I'll call him when I get back from lunch.

By Loren Knight (Loren) on Thursday, March 09, 2006 - 12:32 pm: Edit

Then I guess I'd better get that model to you today!

A sculptor has done this figure proposing it to be one of the new Klingon miniatures. 28mm heroic.

Looks just like me...

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 - 10:49 am: Edit

Well, I did send him your photos. They had to trim the beard back as it wouldn't cast if it was modeled as long as yours is.

Nice figure looks like it would be a blast to paint!

Very cool!

The things some people can accomplish with "greenstuff" never ceases to amaze me. I wish I had that much talent.

By Patrick H. Dillman (Patrick) on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 - 05:50 pm: Edit

Nice!

By Gary Plana (Garyplana) on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 - 09:58 pm: Edit

Very nice indeed. Alvin's work?

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 - 08:28 am: Edit

Those are Bobby Jackson's work. Alvin (back to work with four new ships after a year of being too sick to work) is working on Feds.

By Robert Gilson (Bobcat) on Thursday, July 13, 2006 - 02:33 pm: Edit

That looks great.

By William F. Hostman (Aramis) on Thursday, July 13, 2006 - 05:25 pm: Edit

Pretty cool!

By Lars Fausnacht (Larsfausnacht) on Friday, July 28, 2006 - 04:00 am: Edit

Now I have PD D20 on my shelves.

I am desperately trying to complete my SFB fleets.

And I see a Klingon green looking like that?

Gods, I feel weekends of painting coming on...

SVC, how long before they are on the cart?

(just kidding, just kidding)

By Phil Abramowitz (Philabramowitz) on Friday, November 02, 2007 - 03:25 pm: Edit

Any chance for an update on PD minitaures? With the new movie slated for next year I'd hope there would be interest in the set of figures originally proposed for 2005.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Friday, November 02, 2007 - 05:35 pm: Edit

If the sculptors contracted to deliver them (the ones who failed to deliver) had delivered, we'd have them already.

I heard from another sculptor the other day that I want to talk to when I'm not busy buying warehouse buildings.

By Scott Alan Woodard (Ogma) on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 - 02:14 pm: Edit

Just looking back at that Klingon green again... Man, it's just so awesome. I really was hoping we would have had those by now (as I'm sure you hoped, as well, Steve...)
