|

I just noticed that the Kzinti Medium Cruiser in SFB has double drone control, but in Federation Commander it does not (it can only control six drones at a time). I’m just curious if anyone knows why this change was made (I'm assuming because it made the Kzinti CM too powerful in FC)? Thanks,

I don't know why the change was made in this case. Generally, in FC the only ships to have double control are command units and drone bombardment units. Maybe it was done just to be consistent. _________________ "Captain" Terry O'Carroll, fourteen papers published including six best of issue

The Way the Kzintis arm their ships, Every vessel should have the "can control 12 drones" Ability |

Please, no thread necromancy unless you have something constructive to add. |

I don't know what Necromancy means, but I have a good Idea.
Anyway, I know this isn't constructive, but sorry |

Thread Necromancy - the art of bringing a long-dead (i.e. no one has posted on it in quite a while) thread back to life (i.e. the top of the forum page).
A lot of forums ban it outright. Although this one doesn't, it's generally frowned upon universally.
Though if you have something useful to add, then by all means go ahead and post it. |

I do have one question that might be useful. I don't know if its stated in the rule set I got (Romulan Boarder) but do Fleet Scale ships divide there Drone Control by 1/2? I haven't played any senarios with Kzinti's, but after looking at there ship cards, I can already see that a Fleet Scale Kzinti ship might have trouble launching Drones with only 3 per turn. |

Magnum: No, drone control is not halved - refer to rule (1C3) which lists the the things that change at fleet scale. Drone control is not listed and therefore stays the same. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

Ok, thanks for the info Scout Dad. But I still wonder if it might be wise to to make Drone control 1/2 for Fleet Scale. Not that Kzinti need such a rule, but rather most Fleet Control ships might not have enough weapons/systems to protect themselves with up to 6 drones targeted at them (which in Fleet Scale would be estentially 12 Drones respectively).
If I'm wrong on this, could some one please explain why they didn't reduce the Drone control by 1/2? |

As I mentioned in another thread, it may indeed be the case that seeking weapon control should have been halved in fleet scale, that is not the case.
It was originally pointed out as an incongruity in the rules, but no one ever pushed hard or showed playtest info that such a change was needed. Since the issue was never pushed, no such change has ever really been considered.
On the original topic, note that many fewer ships in FC have double control than in SFB. The medium cruiser is such a ship. _________________
