|
|
I read about Plasma K torpedoes today in the Federation and Commander Rulebook. I realize that they are not included in the rules at this time (At least, at the time of the publication of Romulan Border, this could have changed.) Although the Plasma D's are not included either (Again, at the time of the publication of Romulan Border) they are stated to be Defensive Torpedoes. What in the world is a Plasma K torpedo. I've never played SFB although I am fairly certain they are included there, the only Federation and Commander product I have used is Klingon Border (Though I bought it recently and it uses the Romulan Border rulebook.) Thanks in advance! |

Plasma-K is half the size of a plasma-D. it's carried by fighters.
Plasma-D is mostly carried by fighters (meaning it's Borders of Madness, not FC) but there are Plasma-D racks on some ships in FC, such as the Romulan KRC. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

Wow, as if D isn't small enough already!
And don't even mention D bolts. |

There aren't D or K bolts are there?
And, if hypothetically you decided to incorporate the Plasma K, would the maximum damage be 5 (Half of a D?) |

Pl-K does:
Range: Damage:
0-5 5
6-7 4
8-9 3
10 1
10+ 0
Due to the way they work, against targets fighter sized and below, they do double damage, but I don't think that kind of thing is intergrated into FC. Yes, you can bolt them for half damage, with no damage mod due to target size. _________________ NOLI UMQUAM VIM TURBARUM STULTORUM DEPRETIARE.

I don't know that they would be needed, as their drone analogs (type-VI drones) aren't going to be there.
Really, Pl-K are rather fiddly little weapons that don't really seem to have much of a place in Federation Commander or BoM. _________________

Ravenhull, what are you talking about? Unless you bolt them, its not the range, its impulses (At least, for all regular torps.) |

In SFB (where K-torps come from) you tell how powerful a plasma torp is by the number of hexes moved. |

Sorry about that... at the time I was typing the info straight off the rulebook page. _________________ NOLI UMQUAM VIM TURBARUM STULTORUM DEPRETIARE.
