|
|
I recently just got into FC again after remembering I had fun with my father's old copy of SFBs when I was a kid.
Now that I'm in college, it's pretty hard to find other players for this sort of thing, usually only Warhammer 40k around here if anything.
Are there any groups/players around the NW Washington, DC / Bethesda, Rockville / Silver Spring Maryland area? I could go up to Baltimore area, if its train accessible, since its 30 mins from Union Station. |

I am about to introduce FC to the Army of Central Maryland wargame club which meets Sundays at Games and Comics and Stuff in Glen Burnie (yes, not very Central, I know).
Come join us on March 22 at 1pm-5pm!!!
I live in Crofton and am a new, but very enthusiastic player.

I hav not checked, but I bet you can also find gamers who would play at Dream Wizards in Rockville.

There is a group in Ellicot City which tries to meet monthly. I've been once, and they're a great group of guys. I'd like to go more, but I'm busy a lot of the time and am focusing on F&E. I can pm you the host's e-mail if you'd like. |

Hey Glen Burnie shoulds great. I'll try to make it to the Central MD wargame club!
I'll have to try and navigate the MARC communter train from Washington, then hop on a bus or something. Any possibility of me getting dropped off at the MARC station after the event? so I can catch the train back to Washington and my university? (American)
Ellicott City looks far, and there is no public transportation there from Washington is there? I don't think I could get up there, though I would love to. Not having a car sucks, unfortunately. (Remember I'm a college student.)
You'd think Cities and downtown areas would be hubs of activities of all kinds. Not so, for boardgaming, Cities are actually a large dead zone, where boardgamers might live but have to travel to the suburbs for any action. |

At this first game, we are going to use miniatures.
I can get you back to the MARC or the Metro.
Problem here is TWO cities...

Sounds great, I personally got all the minis for Klingon Border (well except for the Kziniti) and they are just waiting to be painted as soon as I get all the Games Workshop Paints/Tools I ordered at a good price from England.
If I managed to get some done, I'll try to bring them Sunday. |

If you're in DC, I work there. I'd be willing to get together once in awhile on Fridays to play. Another guy who I play Fed Com and F&E with works in DC as well, so maybe he'll be willing to join in. I'll send you a pm with my e-mail if you're interested. |

@enterprise, hey I'll be up for that. PM your e-mail!
As for Glen Burnie, ugh hugely apologize but apparently I can't make it tomorrow due to prior commitments I've made and paid for. I forgotten that my powerpoint accreditation was this Saturday.
Thanks |

Any thoughts on running Fed Com at Gameparlor?
They have two locations, one in Chantilly and the other in Woodbridge.

Yes, but Game Parlour is not metro accessible. I would go down there if I could, if anyone can give me a ride for a FC game I would love to do so.
Also, my apartment right by American University in Washington, DC (NW) itself is open for any games if anyone is willing to come into the city. I have a decent sized table along with Wine and Cheese that I have stocked up. |

I live in Vienna, VA about 10 miles west of DC, and would be interested in playing FC at either Game Parlor or a private group.
The Metro station is on my way to the Channitily Game Parlor and would be more than willing to shuttle people. |

I should be available every other weekend,
the other weekends I trip home to Niagara Falls to see the wife and kids
let's try to get something organized the more the merrier
By the way Games Parlor has a ton of stuff for Fed Com especially the minis packs very nice.

Dorian, how are things going? I hadn't heard from you in awhile and I thought I should check up on when you wanted to get together.
Thom, sorry I haven't replied to your pm. Maybe the three of us could get together and play, I also have been teaching a friend how to play and he can come down to DC and we can get some good multiplayer games going. |
