| Is there a rule in the main rulebook for minefields. and if the case ships that can lay mines i have looked for the subject but can not find it. |

There are no mines in Federation Commander, nor will there ever be.
There might be mines in Borders of Madness, but if there is, it will most likely just be pre-deployed mines around bases (or open minefields). There will likely never be active laying or positioning of mines.
