That will ultimately be for Paul to say... but I can only imagine that the more people participating... the better it'll be. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

Scoutdad, thanks for taking this on! With no cell phone bars (unless I go outside and stand in the dark and get eaten alive by mosquitos) and dial access only for the computer, I couldn't take this on.
Instead, I shall be hard at work on PD20M Klingons! |

I tried once again to log in tonight, but was once again unable to do so. This makes twice in a row. I don't believe anything has changed on my computer, so I don't know what is going on with this. Guess I'll wait for the podcast. I never have anything important to contribute anyway. _________________ Mike

I tuned in last night and found this very informative.
I don't know anything about PD really, and very little about RPGs in general, so it was nice to hear some people involved in development (or very close to it) explain similarities and difference between systems and how easy it is to get into it.
I think I'm going to have to tune in more often! It's just usually during my drive home, that's all. _________________ O.G. OPTIMUS

Interesting podcast!
I was really interested in the concept of playing PD through the web using an instant messenger. As it's probably my best bet for ever getting to play PD, I'm curious if anyone else has tried it, or thought about trying it. |

As I stated in the podcast, I've not tried PD through instant messenger, but I have played AD&D that way. Te principles are the same, only the game ids differnet.
Create your characters offline and have the GM approve them. Then, at the specified time, everyone logs into their favorite chat prgram and has a blast.
It does require a bit more discription as everyone is trying to picture everyone elses places and actions, but if you're into scene building, it really works well. When playing AD&D this way, the GM would create a private room in YIM and then invote the other members. This kept the "riff-raff" out... hahahaha. With the "voice chat" feature enabled (and webcams for those who have them), you can play just as if you're across the table from each other.
We've had a many as 6 people (one GM and 5 players) online simultaneously and have had no problems. If you have any specific questions regarding this option, feel free to either PM me with them, or post them here so everyone can comment.

I've been using a program called FantasyGrounds 2 for online games and thinking about using it for PD; Currently I use it for Savage Worlds games as it supports that system. For voice interactions we use Skype or TeamSpeak as a VOIP solution. It works out really well. FG2 is a paid program but there are other ones out there I hear that are free such as RPGTools, OpenRPG, etc. Of course, you'll still need the rule books from ADB if you go this route.
This offers a why to get a chat window within the game context, character sheet, display encounter maps for planet or ship excursions with/without grid overlays, and roll dice. Some people have made an unofficial GURPs ruleset for it but I haven't used it. |

Sounds cool. I'd be up for participating in an online PD game, if anyone's thinking about putting one together! |
