Alien Armada, covering Tholian Attack and Orion Attack, will be out in September. That's Tholians, Seltorians, Orions, and police ships for everybody.
I asked how they handled Shield Crackers in Starmada and was told, "That would be telling!" Just have to buy the book I guess. _________________ "Captain" Terry O'Carroll, fourteen papers published including six best of issue

A new SFU armada book is always good news.

The biggest issue with the shield cracker is that Starmada does not currently have a weapon trait that automatically damages the shields -- so we're going to introduce a new one, which should also make non-SFU Starmada players happy:
EXTRA SHIELD DAMAGE (x1.5?): A weapon with the Extra Shield Damage trait, as the name implies, is designed specifically to knock out the target's defenses. Each damage die rolled by such a weapon, in addition to its other effects, automatically inflicts one shield hit on the target.
Example: An Extra Shield Damage weapon scores three points of damage on a target. Three dice are rolled, coming up 2, 3, and 5. As a result, two hull hits (3 and 5), one engine hit (2), four shield hits (3 plus three extra), and a weapon hit (5) are inflicted. _________________ Daniel Kast

For the Shield Crackers in FC, I'd probably use that in combination with "no hull damage" since SCs can't blow up the ship in FC. _________________ "Captain" Terry O'Carroll, fourteen papers published including six best of issue

As it happens, keeping the hull damage part (perhaps with a slight reduction, relative to the anti-shield aspect) might be useful for weapons like the Chlorophon Energy Howitzer and the Uthiki Boson Drill; both of which have anti-shield and anti-hull properties. _________________ FC Omega Discussion (v3)

I'm intrigued to see how webs will be handled, and Orion engine doubling. _________________ We are Hydrans! NO ONE LIKES US! |

Will this be a stand-alone product that include the Starmada basic rules, or will it be a supplement to Klingon/Romulan Armada? |

My understanding is that it will not include the starmada simple rules, but just Tholian, Seltorian, and Orion rules (plus scenarios and ships). _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

Same news as before; it's scheduled for the same day as SFB Module Y3, that is, 27 September.
I would suspect that now that we have the PDF thing running smoothly that the pdf versions would appear sometime soon after the print version. I'm not sure if it would be 1 or 2 or 3 weeks after, but no more than that. We were supposed to get Romulan Armada done long before we did, but had to get the system figured out. Leanna is very busy with many diverse tasks, and "start ups" take a lot more time than "do another one of those things you did before". _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

I suppose it has been delayed.
Is there another projected date of release?

Marc, sorry, it was delayed for at least a month. As soon as we have a firm date, we'll post it. Usually you can catch up on this product on our page on Facebook, on the BBS, or in our Hailing Frequencies newsletter. Right now we assume it ships with CL42 on 15 Nov. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander
