Looking at the Federation FF's in the Ship Registry, there are no FFD's listed.
Is the FFE the same as the FFD? |

No, the FFD is the Drone Frigate and can be found in SFB module R2. It's just an FFG with drone B-racks replaing the photons. _________________ Garth L. Getgen

So, in this case where the FFD is not listed in the official ship registry, I guess we can pick our own names?
Is there a way to get ship names added to the Official Starship Registry? |

You could always use the ones marked "subtype unknown", and it seems logical that FFDs were conversions of existing FFGs so you could just use their names too.
Not that there's anything stopping you from making up your own. |

As for updating the registry...
there is a thread on the BBS were you can propose new ship names.
I'm not sure how often the registry actually gets updated, but that's where I'd start if I wanted to get a new "official" name added. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

It is quite likely that FFD names are simply drawn from the larger FFG pool. In fact, I would not be surprised if some ships were converted to one from the other, and then back again at some later time. (Frigates get damaged a lot, and when being rebuilt, they are likely to be rebuilt as what is needed, or what parts are at hand, as they are to be rebuilt in their original configuration..)
So, I suggest just pulling from the FFG name pool. _________________

The FFDs are already on the list, even if not all are marked FFD.
That said, anybody can always make up their own names, but we may not use them in fiction or scenarios.

Indeed.
I just a set of decals for the NCC-371 U.S.S. Asmus, last night; named for my beloved Grandfather. _________________

I can't seem to find a SSD in my SFB stuff for the DDE, I can find the DER. Can anyone tell what the difference is between the two? |

Assuming you are talking about the Federation ships, the DDE was in Module J (I believe).
The only difference between the DDE and DER is that the DER replaces two forward Ph-1s with Type-G drone racks. (This is all from memory. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.) _________________

No. The DER is for the Romulan front and has 4 P-1 FH, 4 P-G (2LS/2RS), and 2 G-racks. |

OK, screwed that up. What I meant to say is that to get from the DER (which he has) to the DDE (which he doesn't), replace two forward Ph-1s with two Type-G drone racks. And that should be the only difference between the two. _________________

Mjwest & Ctchapel,
Thanks guys. That helps alot. Can you provide the SFB or FC point value for the DDE?
Conversion from SFB seems to be about 1.35 and from FC 1.25.

The DDE with full aegis is 104 in SFB. In FC that would make it 107. (The increase is to account for the drone speeds.) _________________

Thanks, that would make it about 130 in ACTA-SF. |
