So earlier I painted some freighters I picked up last week. Turned out pretty good, but I may go back and redo a few things before get it ready for play.
http://pics.livejournal.com/furloph/pic/0007r8zt turned out really well esp since this was the first mini Ive painted in about 2 years, I may go back and redo the text on the side.
http://pics.livejournal.com/furloph/pic/0007s9yh light freighter, color turned out wrong from how I was orrigionaly going to paint it, then it struck me it looked like a well known snack food company product.
http://pics.livejournal.com/furloph/pic/0007t6ka
kinda hard to read as the flash kept blurring out the figure so I had to get the best angle that would work.
Comments, ideas, critique? |

They look pretty good from what I can tell, though they are a bit blurry. Like some of my pictures It's nice to see some actual mini pictures up in the forums. I wish there were a lot more of them. |

thanks, and yeah. For some odd reason my camera wasnt picking up anything clearly, even after pumping up the pictures to best quality it still looked pretty bad. Ive got that huge ore freighter coming in, will paint that one next, then I will start on my klingon ships, then the fed ships. |

Did you try using the macro setting on your camera? It helps when taking close up pictures.
And they look great. I need to take pics of the ones I've done recently and post them. |

Yeah I was using the macro camera setting for it, I may have to use a regular shot, just zoom all the way |

Our newer camera broke after a mild bump on the table (Panasonic) so I'm stuck using the old Fuji. Takes ok normal picturs but either zoom or macro on my mini's they turn out blurred (probably me) or the colors are bright/dark. We are going to get a new one this year sometime and Canon seems to have the best quality/price. |

I hope this is an open post, I would comment on Furloph's minis, but the links don't work anymore. And as it is my first post on the Fed Com Forums, I would like thoughts on these minis I have been working on. Many are WIP and are customs also. So anyway:
Here is a Mobile Base to scale with the SFB minis. I was mildly impressed until I realized I put the tug pods on backwards. Oh well. Its to scale with a Fed NCL varient.

Comeing up next, is what I thought about for a Fed CX; I tried doing a Phase II Enterprise Varient

And a Fed DDX design.

This is a Fed BBV with some random escorts I pulled out for effect, a CC, CL, NDD, and a really old FF.

Here is a Really messed up NCL (thank goodness for that NCL seconds Bag a while back, or I might have felt guilty about jamming a dremel into the hull ), a plasma Torpedo and a Romulan WE

Next, a Prototype? NCA; I wasn't sure what to call it, but I took and Fed CL (old) Engine and put it where the NCA Engine should be.

Some further Random Ships, Fed Attack Crusier (inspired by Mike Raper's), Gorn CX, WYN Shark, Lyran CA, Orion Sal, and a Tholian DD

A close up for the WIP Gorn CX (inspired by a really old counter)

http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n154/Admiralkisluk/DSC00544.jpg
A WIP Detroyat Class Destroyer, From FASA I think? I am not sure, all I know is I have it for a mod for Bridge Commander

http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n154/Admiralkisluk/DSC00545.jpg

This is a desgin, defiently WIP ( I am not quite sure what to do with this, or if I like the way it looks at all), Fire Support Crusier from Starfleet Command II. It has big doors on the seconday hull that are supposed to open up to a bucket load of weapons; it is like a naval BB (broadside).

http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n154/Admiralkisluk/DSC00548.jpg

More fleet pics, The USS Agamemnon, The one at the top of the first pic, it is a BC saucer with a DN hull, I am not sure what that is...,
A BB with tug engines, (got in a seconds pack with no engines), Scout Destoryer?, and a Cloaked DN (Basically just stuff I put together for fun with extra pieces)

And Last but not least of My Photo Essay, I recently as in a while ago, won an ebay auction which was a huge number of SFB, FASA, and other random ships. In it I found these that have got to be based off or made to be Gorn and Romulan PFs. I don't know if he made them, or a knock off company did, or it is a coincidence, but you just look at those and tell me they don't look like Rom and Gorn Designs?

Haha thats what I thought
Anyway, thanks for looking, comments, advice, concerns, questions and the lot would be great! Thanks!
_________________ -Ian

Well, it never occurred to me until now, but here is the website for our local Cincinnati group. Its all the minis we had two years ago, but we plan on adding more pages and updating the older ones as we have added lots more to the collection.
Furloph, check out my Klingon fast fleet

iams -
Quite a fleet you have there. I really love the paint job on the plasma torpedo. Was that dry-brushed to get the yellow highlight? |

iams: I'm assuming that the plasma torpedo is a "fireball" spell effect mini from the Hackmaster line? I'm asking because a few months ago, when our FLGS was closing out their Hackmaster stuff, I picked up 4 packs of the fireball minis for $1 each. I haven't gotten around to painting them yet, but if that's the way they'll turn ou - I may move them to the front of the list. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

I thought this might be a good thread for me to post a picture of my Klingon fleet. It is tiny compared to Scoutdad's but I will just have to learn to live with fleet envy!

Very impressive, Mazza. While I prefer the TOS-style blue-gray Klingons, those look good.
What shade of green did you use? _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

I used Tamiya Color "Field Gray". It is a green-grey as opposed to a blue-grey.
I am not sure that I necessarily prefer greenish Klingons to the blue-grey you picked for your fleet, but after tossing around alternate colour schemes for a while I settled on mostly following the computer generated art on the covers of newer ADB products. For the TV-style Klingons, some people go to the shooting model, others base their painting scheme on what it looks like in the original films, others base it one what it looks like in the TOS remastered episodes, etc. I couldn't really decide which approach was better and so I went with the ADB art. |
