Ok I was teaching FedCom to a couple of guys at No Brand Con this weekend and a couple of questions came up.
First one... We figured out that yes plasma Torpedos are seeking weapons So we have this Plasma R fired at say Range 3 into a Orion Heavy Cruiser next impulse it impacts the shield we stick the token on Shield #4. The Orion enters Defensive Fire Stage and pops off both of the Phaser 3 anda Phaser 1 he hasn't fired into the Plasma damage reduction is calculated at 2:1 to the warhead so far so good. Now the Orion tells the friendly Gorn to roll a d6 because of the steath coating... he rolls a 6... Are we reading this right that a Type R Torpedos just vanishes????
The second one may be a artifact like the Speial Sensors on the early Base Cards but we were playing with a Mobile Base and 2 thinks came up. Since there are no Warp Engins on any Base that means the go boom on the 40th point of Damage (In Fleet Scale) because of the Frame Damage is this correct? The other thing that came up was the actual Repair System Boxes on the Base. Where is the rule covering how to use them located? _________________ -Dal

Dal, yes the Type-R torpedo just goes away. Hard luck for the Gorn.
With the mobile base, any "warp" or "impulse" hits must be scored on the base's reactors. I think this is in the CRUL somewhere. The repair boxes are meant to be lab boxes IIRC, I think a revised mobile base was published in Communique. _________________ "Captain" Terry O'Carroll, fourteen papers published including six best of issue

Terry got it right.
Yes, the Pl-R goes "poof". Sucks for the Gorn.
The "repair" boxes were a goof. They should be lab. This was an oversight of the reviewers.
The new rule (3D6) says that any "warp" or "impulse" hits are scored on "reactor". This is in the CRUL.
EDIT: The revised Mobile Base is in Communique #34. _________________
