Thanks for the question.

I never realized this until now. Most of the volleys against cruisers either did 11-19 pts or blew right through the shield, so we were all of the opinion it was 1 per 10. It just never came up really.

This brings up the question...are seeking weapons off of the same ship ...

well, I voted for the D5W anyway...but is this Fleet Scale or Squadron Scale? It actually makes a difference. The advantages of the D5W get muted a bit at Fleet Scale.

When talking about the Fed NCL, the Gorn DW, the Kilingon D5W and so forth..remember to keep a historical context. These are mid ...

Another note for former SFB guys: Ya can't rotate him, so don't count on that open shield.

The most challenging to play for me are the Lyrans.

Do you use the ESG for drone defense, or do you try for the ram?

You've got a lot of power, but your turn mode ain't that great, comparatively. This means Saber Dancing is harder.

Lyran ship designers don't like overlapping arcs or providing a ...

Is it bad form to basically just "/agree" this for the bump? If someone hadn't already started the thread, I would have.

I've introduced about a dozen people to SFB/FC over the years and my single overriding advice is this: In your fist few games, look at your SSD (ship form) at the end of the ...

Well, my experience in FC is limited, but I remember that the success of the Orion PH-1 boat in SFB was due in a large part to Electronic Warfare rules. The phaser efficiency, coupled with the extra power allowed the Orion to trade Alpha strikes with other ships and come out sweet on the average ...

A hard habit to break for SFB players:

[Player #1]: "He just launched drones, so he can't launch for another half turn..I should be fine. It's just 4 of them."

[Player #2]: "Launching more drones on Impulse 1."

Another one:

"It's ok, I'll just mark Frame for this one. I need that ...

Klingons have the best power curvein the game and aggressive fire arcs on their ships. It's easy to underestimate the effectiveness of PH-2's at 5-6 hexes. Klingon ships were made to fly aggressively and they should be flown that way.

Using the power curve to your advantage is easier in FC than SFB ...

Re: FOUR QUESTIONS FOR OUR CUSTOMERS

Disclaimer: I didn't read the 9 pages of replies before posting. Sorry fellas.

1. What are we NOT doing that we SHOULD be doing?

I just received my copy of FC: Klingon Border, and I'm pleased overall. One thing: Is there any way to get the basic ship cards upgraded from statement size to 8.5x11 ...

While it may not be SFU, it is D20. If you can find an original copy of the Frist Edition Star Wars D20, it had an excellent way of doing abstracted, character based starship combat, using two tracking pages divided into quadrants.

This, of course, is if you don't want to do the hex-based thing ...
