Well, Kzinti ships have 50% of the disruptors of their modern hulls. This means that there is even LESS reason to get in close.

Kzinti tactic? Break into two groups and launch drones on a target between the two? If he turns and attacks one group, then... one group (tries to) pin the other.

I learned this from boardgamegeek.com, and I also use nail-clippers. You'd be surprised how many you can do with a box on your lap in front of the TV.

A super aggressive tactic is to "ride the wave" of drones in.

Then, your enemy has this choice:
a) Fire on the ships, or...
b) Fire on the drones, or...
c) Do both, but not very well.

This tactic does NOT work very well against enemies who are moving VERY fast. (Orion Pirate for instance ...
