and to leathernsteel yes I agree as long as the point values are close it is good enough. That is why I play. But I attempt to make it even better! :)

Yes, they are going to be inaccurate for some combination of map/terrain/opponents. But that was not my point. My point was in general many races should have different BPVs for fixed or floating. How different should they be? That was my question to all. You say they are different but not very much ...

I do not know why but the majority of my post was removed. I believe it may be quotation marks that is the problem we see. I will post my post again with no quotation marks.

Hello Kang. I do not believe there were in the beginning two numbers that were averaged. I believe the printed on the card ...

I am sorry. The quote of Scoutdad saying "it would have taken a Cray supercomputer is needed to compile a 100% total accurate listing of point values for every ship againstevry other ship in every situation on every type of map" was between my two posts. It was not accepted and I do not know why.

That is why I suggested a multiplier number for fixed map and open map only. I believe the BPV is an average and I believe the fixed map BPV and open map BPV are two main numbers for the average. I would like to know those two numbers. Yes I understand there are more than only those two numbers in ...

Thank you for your reply Dal Downing. Are you saying that although the points were known to be inaccurate, that did not matter and the point values from SFB were used in FedCom with full knowledge that they were inaccurate because you are supposed to get the same results from SFB and FedCom. I do ...

I believe we are both not understanding each other Dal Downing. I still do not understand how a Romulan not knowing how to use a cloaking device is similar to a Stinger being on a floating map. I still feel the similarity to your statement is a federation player who does not know how to use ...

first page of rulebook reads "This is a FIFTH EDITION rulebook"

5P3b Fade: Paragraph 3 headed by "Example:". Last sentence. A nearby Federation ship could have fired phasers without penalty during the Direct Fire Phase of Impulse #3 (before he knew the Romulan would cloak), or with the +4 penalty ...

Range penalty for cloaked ships

Is the range penalty for cloaked ships "Double and add 4" as read in 5P3b example or is the range penalty for cloaked ships "add 4" as read in 5P3c?

I am sorry my PC was behind in the posts and I did not see 3 posts.

To answer missed posts, yes that may be a little over kill there. I wrote

Hello Dal Downing. I agree that Romulans who never use a cloak affect game play. I also agree that Federations who never use a photon affect game play and agree that Klingons who never use a disruptor affect game play. I am sorry but I am unsure what the meaning was of your statement.

I am still ...

I may be incorrect Capt Jack. I did say I require help. :D

Would you like to contribute to the chart?

I have now read many people with the opinion the point values are incorrect with no help with my chart. :( Are all people with the opinion it is impossible to fix? Or just my chart will not fix ...

I also think it is funny to have point values to the ones when it is not very accurate.

My idea is now to have a multiplier to multiply by a race for fixed 42X30 map or floating map. The point values are an average of these two maps I hope. To be simple I will use this.

Create a chart

Race ...
