I cannot say I have ever heard of it, but lots of people do SFU stuff and Trek stuff that I don't hear about.

I am still not grasping what the tactic is. Why is flying along the map edge any better than flying anywhere else? I guess you could do that to hide a battered shield on the side facing the edge, but other than that I don't get it.

I am not understanding this. You can shoot someone from any position on the map (subject to range and firing arcs). If you're hugging the map edge I cannot get on the outside of you but I don't have to. I just use whatever weapons have a firing arc and start rolling dice.

Have we never converted that to FC? It might be good to put it in CL55.

SFB and FC (and ACTA and Starmada) are different games but reflect the same reality. In theory, the same battle fought in each game would give the same result. It's not a perfect system, and FC was designed to ignore or simplify a lot of the extremely picky (but realistic) rules from SFB. One ...

The "the real world" the Andros don't conduct operations like anyone else and really do not fit the admiral's game. They have no front line and operate almost as guerrillas. You could, I guess, create a non-historical universe in which they functioned like normal empires. Same for the WYNs or Orions ...

Right now I am working on F&E CIVIL WARS. Albert is working on A CALL TO ARMS STAR FLEET BOOK 3. (Albert and I are also finalizing the new 3d printed starship contract, which is about as much work as designing a game.) Petrick is focused on final fixes to the ORION MASTER STARSHIP BOOK and pushing ...

Keeping the strongest shield toward the enemy is not always the best plan as sometimes to win the scenario (or just survive) you really need to be moving in a very different direction.

The game focuses on punching through a shield. If you cannot penetrate a shield, then fire anyway and weaken one ...

Shapeways went bankrupt. Someone is trying to resurrect it but I think only in Europe. We are negotiating with a new provider but it will take two years to get the minis that sold significant quantities back on the market. I hope we have a few 7000s next month.

Jean and I will discuss releasing something about KLINGON BORDER and ROMULAN BORDER. We just don't release PDFs of counters but never say never. PDFs of the card sets would be plausible but not free or cheap.

I can echo what Mike West said.

I would be at least interested/amused at seeing what Chat GPT could produce.

Every scenario incorporates standard language from older scenarios and if somebody invented a good way to handle special situation XYZ it's not unusual for other scenario writer's to copy ...
