Anywho, the TMP version of the Police Cutter
What if SFB went into the refit era? (Artwork)

The Aurorans had little choice - they had to make the most out of the CL and POL hulls which had been present in the Aurora system, when it made the transition to Omega in 2530.
Indeed, they ended up making a virtue of necessity - by developing an entire fleet's worth of new ship designs based on both hull types (and on some Klingon and Lyran technologies they were able to add in the 2570s).

There's an odd corner of the Omega Octant, called the 'nexus zone', which has a spatial anomaly that draws in areas of space - some as small as that surrounding a ship, others as large as an entire solar system - and more than one such system had already been brought through to the zone prior to 2530, and would be in future.
Aurora III - first settled in 2512 - was whisked out of Federation space (along with its entire star system), but happened to have been intended as a launch-pad for further colonisation of what is now the UFP's off-map area (if you go by Fed and Empire). Thus, at the time the system vanished, it had a number of ships and other units in-system - not all of them belonging to the Federation, either...
Later, in 2571, a Klingon colony world called Kraknora was brought over, along with 5 Klingon ships. When Kraknora signed up, the Republic of Aurora became the Federal Republic of Aurora.
Later still, in 2578, an ISC colony, PX 123, was brought over, and joined the FRA also - though no details are in-print about what, if any, ships were in-system.
Kraknora and PX 123 weren't te only systems brought over after 2530 - but they are the only ones known to be inhabited (thus far, at least).
As far as individual ships being brought over goes, a good example can be found in 2573, when a Lyran CL was snagged. From it, the Aurorans gained the use of ESG technology, which was put on their carrier escorts.

If the 'X-ship' version of the POL hull was ok to print, could it be used for an Auroran X-frigate, as opposed to a Federation X-police ship?
If the nacelles on Fed X-ships tend to look more like those on Adam's CX model, perhaps the Aurorans - who apparently developed their 'war' classes in co-operation with the Maesrons, and may have done the same for X-tech (but were not aware of what the Federation, Klingons or ISC were doing as regards X-technology) - could have gone a different way, as far as cooking up their X-engine designs?
Plus, in the FRA, their smaller fleet would be more readily pressed to consider an X-frigate based on their POL-derived FF - as opposed to asking the question as to whether or not the Federation were rushing to give X-tech to their own police ships...

I do have the official X-tech warp engines, regular size, done. I just haven't finished the Vincennes herself yet... for some reason I'm just not tackling the secondary hull all that well.
I don't THINK that the engines alone on the TMP updates would be an issue for the 'art gallery' stuff. But Steve may want to check that. The nacelles could be altered pretty easily to more match the X-tech design, though.
