The klingon B9 fast battleship
In captains log 37 i saw the klingon B9 what mini do i use for this nice looking ship has it looks nice and powerful
.
Since there is not a B-9 miniature available, I'd modify a B-10 to represent it. It would be a fairly simply modification, somewhat akin to the D-7 to FD-7 conversion John Scneder describes in his article.

The B8 was the B10 boom mated to a C8 rear hull. I have one of those kit-bashed already.Dal Downing wrote:I may be wrong but isn't the B9 the Mating of a B10 Boom with a C8 Main Hull. I will look when I get home because I started working on one of these.
The B9 was an unbuilt BB variant. A Fast Raider! So now, I have to buy another B10 and start cutting.

I'd assume a mini could be kitbashed by taking a B10 mini and giving it the "go fast" outboard engines, per John's FD7 article.
What else to do to make it look lighter and faster is something to ponder (I don't have my FedCom stuff in front of me). I'll have to stare at the ship card a bit and see if SVC changed the art any.
Box-counts would affect things - if there's a reduction in boxes in the boom or in the aft hull, then some chopping would be in-order (like what John did with his master for the C5 Light Dreadnought).

The boom loses 20 boxes... SFGs, Hull, Bridge, Emer Bridge, Lab, Impulse, Mech-linked Tractors, and Security. This definitel calls for a narrower boom.
The rear hull also loses boxes...
16 from the upper engine deckhouse... shuttles, drone racks, impulse, etc.
16 more from the rear hull...10 hull, 2 TRANS, 2 Security, 2 Batteries.
this definitely means it needs the "Goes Faster" wing/engine treatment the FD7 received. I'd also cut down the deck-house prior to mounting it. And for the biggest modification... I'd cut about 1/8th inch from the length of the boom - most easily accomplished by sawing it in two with a razor saw and then reattaching the two halves.
Hmmmm. I have an extra B10 that was destined to become a KB10R, but I think plans may change. I need to do a B9 in order to have the whole B-family [B-10, B-9, B-8, B-10T]. I can always get another B-10 later and do the KB10R
