Post by jmt »

Folks,
I'll be running a Federation Commander Combat Rally game at the October Greater Games Gathering in Plano, TX on 18 October. The event is scheduled for 9:00 - 12:00. The format is Fleet scale heavy cruisers. Bring your miniatures as I will have a huge star map with 2" hexes setup.

For more information, please see the G3 Forum.

The Combat Rally scenario was a success - we were one of the first games on the schedule, but still managed to have 5 players show up - only 2 of which had played before.

There Masters had captured heavy cruisers from the Federation, Klingon Empire, Gorn Confederation, Romulan Empire, Lyran Democratic Republic and the Kzinti Hegemony.

The Biggest Mistake award goes to the Romulan War Eagle who, while running on cloak and being chased by the Lyran, uncloaked and HET'ed. He fired his R-torp at the Lyran who (1) wasn't his target and (2) had not fired on him. As the R-torp disapated, the rather mortified captain could only watch in disbelief as the LDR rammed him with a full ESG accompanied by a alpha strike.

The Plays Most in Character award goes to the Federation and Klingon captains - both free agents - who rather quickly started trading shots. After a few turns, the Gorn captain swept in and delivered the coup-de-grace to both ships.

The Winner was the Kzinti captain - the only one who actually went around gathering the flags.

Thanks to everyone who showed up and played!
