Historical Map of the Alpha Octant?

The SFU's USS Republic is a conversion from the older 'R-Class' cruisers, as opposed to a new Constitution-class build (an upgraded R-Class is functionally identical to the Constitution-class). So I'm guessing that it's the "extra" cruiser on that list.

Recall hearing a story came out early in the 80s or so, Constellation class ships were former Non-warp ships refitted to warp, whereas Constitutions were built with warp configuration --
Been a long time so don't remember where I heard that ---
Seeing how history keeps changing, no telling what the real story is ---
