At long, long last.

Yes, my long awaited Deep Space mat from Hotz Matz arrived today.

It was ordered on Jan 7th and arrived today, and even given custom making and shipping to the UK from Canada I think this is a little long, I cannot fault the quality. It looks absolutely superb. Some photos below with the Seltorians and some unfinished Tholians...

As I don't have an opponent to hand today, and given the fact that I simply HAVE to try it out, I'm going to use the robot rules and the hexless rules for some solo play later on today.

Looking good!

My mat is an old GeoHex with hexes.

Given my opponents I think I'll stick to hexes for FedCommander. Less chance for arguing when I out-manoeuvre him and blow him out of the water.

2" hexes are nice as they allow multiple ships per hex. :)

Steve, Steve, Steve.* How many times do John and I have to show up at Origins and demo the free movement rules? The game is so much more interesting without all those pesky hexes. ;)
