Are there any major differences from Rev. 4? That's the one I have. Will it become obsolete?Steve Cole wrote:Revision 5 comes out on 6 April.

Revision 5 rulebook
"His pattern indicates two-dimensional thinking."

The question I'd ask is this: how many of the rules from the expansions will be included? Webs, Hellbores, that sort of thing?
Because without those sections added in to the main rulebook, some of those CRUL items won't make an awful lot of sense
I wonder if that's part of what Andy means....
The other thing is how do we go about getting the new rulebook once it's published? Order it direct from ADB, or will some be sent over to Esdevium Games [the importer] in the UK, for example?

The "reference" rulebook (4020) includes EVERY item that is a RULE. It doesn't have scenarios or ship descriptions or historical notes.
The text of the "reference" rulebook will replace the text of every other rulebook. So if rule 4X5Y is in Planetoid Attack, then there is a rule 4X5Y in the reference rulebook (including the updates from the CRUL) and new copies of Planetoid Attack will have the "new text" from Revision 5.

That is indeed part of what I was wondering, Tony, but the main thing is (I assume) that Rev. 5 will be the same rules as Rev. 4, but with additions and clarifications, and not a whole new rules base, e.g. Commander's Edition/Captain's Edition in SFB, AD&D 2nd.ed/D&D 3rd.ed.(d20), etc.Kang wrote:The question I'd ask is this: how many of the rules from the expansions will be included? I assume you'll order it, either directly from ADB or from your FLGS, if you just want a new rulebook. But we all know what happens when you assume....Kang wrote:The other thing is how do we go about getting the new rulebook once it's published? Do you mean including the ship descriptions and scenarios? Probably not.Sgt_G wrote:Any chance that there'll ever be an all-in-one rulebook, one that takes KB + KA + RB + RA + etc rules and puts them all in one book??
But, as Steve said, all of the rules from KB, KA, RB, RA (and TA, DK, OA) will all be in the Rev5 rulebook. And by rules I mean sections 1-6, 7A, 8A-B.

Nope, didn't see it ... until now. Just found the e-mail notice (but remember I just rebuilt my computer and so had three tons of unsorted e-mails from the old drives to restore). Thanks.
If there's a link is on the main page, it's not too obvious. Or I'm just too blind to see it.
