Star Fleet Battle Force and Minis

Has anyone tried playing Star Fleet Battle Force using miniatures?

If so, how was it?

Since SFBF is a card based game and the info needed to play is on the cards - I'm not sure how you'd play it with miniatures.

I suppose you could place a miniture on top of the ship cards you have in play in front of you - but you'd stil need the ship card to mark damage on... and the action deck - since you can't recreate those with minis.

The art on the cards is pretty awesome though so honestly I like using them.

Yes, the cards and action cards would still be necessary, but just for the looks and usage of the miniatures (if one has them already), it might be kind of fun to have them if, say, you were playing at a game store where others would see them.

I dunno...just a thought.

Of course, I've seen where others have written that they don't like to demo anything at a game store unless they use *only* the exact contents of a particular game product. The minis would definitely not fill the bill on that count.

Yeah Mike. I have thought about it and my brother and I jokingly will do it every now and then because it is cool. But it is really a lot more hassel than it is worth to try to teach some one how to play the game using miniatures it just seems to confuse them.
