Romulan Eagle Decals?

Ok all how do you get these on your ships for any of you that use them? I stripped ll my Romulans and am Starting over (bye bye hand painted eagles, I hardly knew you). The problem I am having is that the decals dont't come with a spot to put the whole for the stand, I am debating trying too measure and pre-cut the whole (though this will leave me with little in the way of scoshe-room, and the other option of trying to cut the whole after the decal is appilied (this sounds like a bad idea). Anyone want to let me know how they do it

I cheated... I just hand painted my eagles before the base was attached.

Oh my - those are some eagles! I'll just have to redo mine...

As for the decal - mount it, then use a pin to prick the spot where the post will go through. Use an exacto to cut a cross. The srand shoudl fit right through, and the decal will close over the peg.

Scoutdad, i hand painted mine too then I had too strip them cause I hated the base color, oh well.

Rockyr that sounds like it might work well, I was worried about an air pocket but if i put a pin prick hole in early I should be able to avoid it. Thanks
