OK, I double-checked.

To make a D6 into a D6S, you just replace the disruptors (four in squadron scale; two in fleet scale) with special sensors. That is pretty much it.

The squadron scale point value is 140. Fleet scale point value would be about 70-75.

Can't get to my SSDs right now but like MJW said to get a D6S you replace all Disruptors with Special Sensor. If you want to see a different type of D6 Scout the D6E (Exploration Cruiser) replace 2 Disruptors with 2 Special Sensors giving you a D6 that keeps half its heavy armament.

There are a few more things that change like I think you lose the 2 Drones to pick up 2 more Shuttles and gain another probe or something, will let you know if I find my books.

Do NOT post it on the forum. Or any where else for that matter.

Please use it for your own purposes, but do not post it.

Are sensors to be eventually added to the game officially?

I think they already are. The booster 91 had a sensor ship (one of the best, in fact)

Speaking of that, until more of the ships come out could you tell us how to convert the ships?

No.

The are part of Borders of Madness, not Federation Commander proper.

To see the rules, they are in a Communique (sorry, forgot which one) and a Captain's Log (again, forgot which one).

As has been mentioned before, to make a frigate, destroyer, or war cruiser into a scout, simply take the base ship and replace its heavy weapons (but not phasers, drones, or ESGs) with special sensors. There are exceptions to this, but this covers the vast majority of the cases and is close enough on the rest.

For the point value, just use the point value of the base ship. While this again isn't quite right, it is surprisingly close enough.

Scout rules are in Communique #28.

IIRC special sensor rules, along with maulers and other borders of madness playtest stuff, is in the playtest section of the commander's circle downloads.

Yes... Maulers, Special Sensors, and Vudar rules can be found in the Commanders Circle.
