Origins is on!!! Woot!

Post by Scoutdad »

Well, we're here... at least the F&E guys are. nearly 20 of us registered yesterday (Tuesday).
4 separate games set-up adn in progress:
Early Beginnings - These guys made it through 5 turns last night (but they are quick turns)
Fifth Power - We finished turn 1-C (My Lyrans are sucking big time...)
General War - These guys finished turn 1-C as well and their Lyrans remind me of mine!
Errant Wind - they haven't finished the initial set-up, but will get started early this morning. Somehow though, I just really don't want to be involved in any game called "Errant Wind" and involving those low-down, dirty-rotten, methane-breathing, trashcan-looking Hydrans!

As the correspondent on scene, please keep up the updates on daily activities if you can and when you have time. I wish I could be there as well.

Wow, someone besides me actually used the  face  !!!

And Scoutdad, I'm still expecting those packs from you  . Rising Rivals set please. (I'm just joking, but I thought I'd bring it up)

Have a good time beating down on the Low Down Dirty Rotten Trashcan Looking Methane Breathing Hydrans! Let me suggest peanut butter as a topping if you capture an enemy ship  .

Update on the game I'm in:
Things went from bad to worse...
I took 71 ships into a Starbase battle and brought out 22 ships... all but 7 crippled. Nothing but 1's and 2's on my rolls.

Fortunately, when the butcher's bill was totaled; the Kzinti got the worst end of it:
2 dead carriers, 7 dead EFF, 3 dead BC, two dead FKE, 8 dead auxes, and misc dead CL, DD, FF...

I'm not able to be there until Friday. Are you guys in the Miniatures Hall? I'd love to come by and check things out!

Scoutdad, I think your dice are confused. They must think you're playing SFB, where 1's and 2's are GOOD. They just need a bit of a talking to to straighten out. :)

No!!!
I spent two turns rebuilding losses, went back in with 80+ ships nd managed to take it out... but it cost me another 50 crippled / dead ships.

This mornign, I went to the exhibitors hall and bought new dice. All day long, I've had less than 10 rolls below a 4! I should have just bought new stuff Wednesday! 8)

If anyone else from the forum is at Origins, I'm in room D-243 almost all day long.

Stop in and say hello.

I play Robo Rally on a place called Game Table Online --

Spend the down time watching the Axis & Allies players whine and whine about losing over dice rolls --- Apparently to them random numbers don't include those they don't like lol ---

I *know* my dice hate me. Usually if I've been a jerk earlier that day. I'm a firm believer in "karma" and it's just the universe's way of letting me know to "shape up".

That sounds like me, but with video games instead.

My dice hate me in any game other than FC. There they are my best friends.

I just went to the Chessex booth, bought a new set of dice in Lyran colors...
Went to the SJG booth, bought a ChibiThulhu (for my daughter  )...
Set Chibi on the table and put the dice in his arms, only took them out to roll...

That day, I rolled two 1s and 1 two, everything else was a 4 or higher!

Go figure!
