Tholian Battleship

Post by mojo jojo »

I realize that FC has a different history than SFB, but I was wondering about the NBB. In Tholian Attack, the NBB was stated to have never arrived in the Milky Way. In fact, only 2 NDNs, 4 NCAs, and 6 NCLs had arrived. However in Battleships Attack, it was stated that a NBB, the Sword of the Holdfast, was seen in the Milky Way and came with the rest of the Neo-Tholians.

Which version of history is the "official" Federation Commander version?

fedcom is not tied to a "history" like the extensive one that SFB has. because of this ships that were conjectural or were not seen in SFB are available for Fedcom. so the answer would be that both Fedcom and the SFB history are correct.

Some Selt and Tholian ships aren't for usage vs Alpha Empires, just against each other in the home quadrant ---

I saw the same problem, but I would say "yes" the Sword of the Holdfast did in fact arrive in the milky way. My reasoning is that in SFB, nobody had battleships. In FC, everybody does. Also, remember that BA came after TA, so I think the new updates trump.

The Inseparable.

The Klingons signed the paperwork, but never bothered sending it. Or even building it, for that matter.

Also, there are the Iridani Man-O-War battleships, which are quite nice.

I guess the Branthodon Ancient Dragonship is big and scary enough to fit the bill, too...

Oh, and there was that incomplete Andromedan Devastator the Operation Unity forces found being built at the second Desecrator in the Lesser Magellanic Cloud. One shudders to think of a region of the universe where the Andros might actually get to field one of those.

Outside of a troubling alternate future, that is.

Battleships Attack was published after Tholian Attack, so I'd say that the information in BA represents "newly translated sections of the source tape" which supersede earlier information. :) Yes, there was a Neo-Tholian BB in the FC timeline!!

And according to the Federation and Empire scenario "The Fifth Power" printed in Captain's Log #37... the NBB arrived in an alternate Milky Way Galaxy prior to the start of the General War... resulting in some very aggressive Tholians.

That's the scenario we played this past weekend at Origins. With the help of the Neo-Tholian Battleship, the Tholians were one turn from attackign the Klingon homeworld before the scenario ended... very poorly for the Klingons and Lyrans, I might add.

And the WYN pocket BB, and the... oh wait, we're not on that topic anymore?

I'd like to see the looks on a Klingon commander's face after seeing a Neo-Tholian BB. "How did the Rockheads get that ship!?"
