Federation Lolipop DD

Quick question about the Fed DD and variants.

Booster #91 has the Original FJ design with no added phasers, drones, reactors, etc. and the DDM which are both Middle Years ships.

Booster #91 also has the DDL and DDG which are the "Advanced General War" era designs that fit into the standard FC timeline.

The ship card we got back in Communique #4 was the DD+ from SFB, the standard 4 photon DD with the GW upgrades (and that extra drone rack, which is FC only).

Is this ship still valid as printed (with 4 photons)??

At this point we should ignore the DDL/DDG variants on the card since the official (BPV changing) cards are available.

The Communique card is now superceded. Basically, the extra drone rack it was given has been removed. (Consider it an experiment that didn't pan out.) So, no, it is not "valid". That said, it is still available, so feel free to use it if you want.

The 4-photon version of the GW DD still exists. The main problem is that there were only 8 slots for 14 or so ships. Cuts had to be made. The selection you see is the selection that was chosen. This does mean that the GW-era version of the 4-photon DD does not have a drone rack.

The whole "limited slots" thing is also why the GW versions of the Scout and Tug were included, rather than the "true" FJD designs (which would be Middle Years designs). It was more important to have the two GW-era ships in the game than it was to have the straight FJD designs.

...But if you want the true FJD ships, just subtract the ph-3's an drone from the SC/TUG

OK. Thanks Mike.

So that card form Communique minus the drone rack is good to go, and would be the "official" standard Fed DD. Right? That way it matches up with the DDL and DDG from Booster #91 without that extra drone rack.

Still have a use for those two cards...

And we got the Middle Years Tug in Communique a few months ago too.

Would the Middle Years scout have the sensor channels removed like the GSC found in Briefing #2? Or should the GSC have them added back in? I would guess the latter, but since it's all Borders of Madness, I figured I would ask.
