Very nicely done! Good work on the lettering. I've only just started using tech pens, and am still experimenting with them.

BTW, my sig is a modified England football (soccer) hooligan chant :D

Man, those all look great, Dale. I'd about forgotten about the Orion DN! Talk about oversized!

What kinda paints are you using these days? I've become a fan of Vallejo paints, myself, but still like Citadel inks and washes...and, or course, my good old standbys the Deltas and Americanas.

Thanks Mike. I'm still mostly using Citadel, although since they've discontinued some colors and understocked some others, I've bought some "Game Color" by Vallejo... supposed to match the tones. Haven't tried 'em yet tho!

Sadly my painting time is thin these days, just been busy, but now and then I get some ships done!

Posted some of my Tholians in the Tholian Painting Examples, here:

Since the new format is to post the pictures THERE but have the commentary HERE, just wanted to give a head's up. :)

Those are great! I've got a few Tholians on the bench right now and I hope they can come close to that level. I'm not the most experienced with metallic paint.

Thanks man!

I paint them Copper, then wash with "Flesh Wash" ink, then drybrush gold. Add details in silver. Again using Citadel Colour acryllics. For the engine cowlings, I paint them silver, then wash with yellow ink.

Dale -
Do you prime them in white or black? I'm leaning to black, from what I've read about metallic paints.

White. It helps bring out the vividness of the color, especially metallics.

When I'm working on "people" figs that are meant to be primarily muted or dark colors, I do prime them black.

Just posted up a Seltorian squadron under the "painting examples" area.

Some notes - these are painted the same as the kitbash Selt CA I had posted earlier. The outdoor lighting's muted today so it doesn't look as shiny, but it's the same paint.

The decals, by Pomroy Productions, came out great. This was my first foray into decals. I have more on order, and look forward to applying them for my "black" and "gold" Selt squadrons as well. :)

The fighters are, of course, Klingon Z-Ys painted in Seltorian colors.

Those look awesome. I particularly liked seeing the fighters - I think you are the first to post pics of painted ADB fighter minis anywhere.

Stunning work once again. I'd love to learn how to paint that type of scheme.

Yeah, when I bought fighters in bulk, I didn't plan to make the Selts my first painted, but that's how it worked out.

I achieve my color by painting the mini in silver, then washing in green ink. The ink I use for my Selts was hand-mixed... a cross between dark green and yellow inks, when Citadel had discontinued its regular green ink.

Bob's decals really sealed the deal. I did 1/3 of my ships in "white" decals, while the others will be "black" and "gold/orange" symbols. That's why the fighters have black, orange and white dots - I painted 4 of each.

That Nest ship you posted up looks cool.

What I really think is outstanding, however, is your custom CA! It captures the design aesthetic in the art for the Seltorian ship more than the Starline one does, to my eyes.

Thanks!

I didn't build the CA, I got it from Mike Raper who got it from someone else... I can't remember who offhand. That ship is outstanding. I wish the whole line was like that. It's made of plastic, though, so certainly not a cast-able mini.

I like your ISC.

Did you use a series of ink washes on them?

And what are those tiny tiny little guys out front? Elite scale CAs? What do they represent on the table?
